Comments on all the Problems with Alvarez-Golovkin III

  • Alvarez believes that a third fight is not needed. He got the official win. Controversial or not in the second fight.

  • Golovkin does not want to fight in Vegas because he believes that he can't get a fair treatment against Oscar Delahoya's only cash cow.  He has been proven right twice.

  • That $300 million 11-year fight deal is unrealistic.  My understanding is that this money was a promissory note.  Does anyone know exactly how much Canelo and Golovkin have been paid by DAZN at this time? Contracts change, fighters change, conditions change, technology changes. You can't hold someone to an 11 fight deal in today's markets.

  • How many opponents outside of a Golovkin trilogy are the casuals going to care about?

  • It has been said that John Skipper may have to move DAZN to a PPV model for the really big fights.  It won't be $75, but it could be about $50. Golovkin and Alvarez are not going to fight big Superstars with subs only playing only $20 a month.

  • DAZN may be doing well worldwide, but it is struggling terribly in the USA. They are going to have to increase prices in the USA just to survive.

  • Alvarez's people HATE Golovkin's people, specifically Abel Sanchez and Delahoya for all the accusations made against them.  Most are true, but that's not a good business attitude to take to go into a potential third fight.

  • DAZN still has that "Super Bowl on an App or I-Phone mentality."

  • Yes, DAZN is cheaper, but their production quality compared to a past HBO or Showtime or now even ESPN absolutely sucks.  People, you are paying for a Junior-High School production presentation here

  • The companies' footing is at best questionable. People are not going to pay for the "Rocky Fielding's" and Steve "Cinnamon" Rolls as opponents for these stars.. And superstar fighters are not going to want such a small percent of that investment. Could this be why Haymon passed on DAZN?
