"I think no because, I mean, if he would've been honest and said, 'You know what? Floyd was better the man. I lost.' I told you guys many, many years ago there's going to be excuses. I done what I had to do," stated undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather, who recently called in to "The Whoolywood Shuffle" on Shade 45 SiriusXM Radio to discuss a number of topics. As far as Mayweather is concerned, Pacquiao exaggerated a shoulder injury, which he later underwent arthroscopic surgery for, in order to explain his subpar performance rather than admitting he had no solution for the Mayvinci code.
"After the fight, you know, when he was sitting in the corner, no one was rubbing his shoulder. I mean, for him to say that he had, you know, a torn rotator cuff, that's ridiculous. If his hands would have got raised, he wouldn't have said that. I mean, if you go back and you look at the weigh-in, you know, he raised both arms extremely high," Mayweather explained. "Throughout the whole week in training camp, you know, leading up to the fight when he was going to the boxing gym and he was having workouts, he was throwing his left hand and his right hand extremely hard and extremely fast."
According to Mayweather, if fans are unhappy about the fight not living up to expectations, the only person they should be blaming is Pacquiao. "I posted a video of what I said 6 years ago, 'Once I had a chance to fight Pacquiao and I beat him, they're going to say that it was boring.' It's not my fault that I was able to alleviate anything that he was trying to do. What I did was whatever your best attribute is, I take it away from you, I disarm you, and that's what I do," Mayweather continued. "If people want to be upset, be upset with the guy that couldn't set the trap for Floyd Mayweather. Be upset with the guy that used to throw 1000 punches, but then resorted to throwing 400 punches. Please don't be mad at me. I'm the winner. I done what I had to do, so, you know, Pacquiao, I wish you nothing but the best; keep up the good work. We did what we had to do. I was the better man."
