FLOYD MAYWEATHER SHREDS ADRIEN BRONER; SAYS HIS NEW NICKNAME SHOULD BE

"Adrien Broner, his nickname is 'The Problem'. I think he has a lot of problems. Adrien Broner was just an alcoholic six months ago. One thing I'm trying to find out about Adrien broner, is he a boxing promoter, is he a rapper, is he a porn star, or is he a gangster? Like I said before, 'The Problem', that's what Adrien Broner likes to call himself, if I'm not mistaken. The problem that he really needs to focus on is his problem in Cincinnati...I think the best name for him is not 'The Problem', it's 'Snake'," stated retired undefeated former pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather, who had a lot to say about four-division world champion Adrien Broner after some of his comments during the final press conference leading up to Friday's showdown with Ashley Theophane. You don't want to miss what he had to say in this explosive interview. Check it out!

BT: Champ, we missed you at the press conference today.

FM: I want to apologize to everyone in the DMV [DC, Maryland, Virginia]. I wanted to be at the press conference today, but my pilots had to get rest. I was going to leave out last night, but my pilot didn't get any rest and I want to make sure my pilots are well rested before we fly anywhere. We all know rest is very, very important.

BT: Adrien definitely took notice of your absence. He said he was a little pissed that you didn't make it and questioned if you cared about Ashley.

FM: Well, my thing is I put Ashley in a position to fight for a world title. I don't know Ashley's promoters from the past, but who put him in the position to fight for a world title? I feel like I've done my job by putting him in a position to fight for a world title. Adrien Broner, his nickname is "The Problem". I think he has a lot of problems. Adrien Broner was just an alcoholic six months ago. One thing I'm trying to find out about Adrien broner, is he a boxing promoter, is he a rapper, is he a porn star, or is he a gangster? Like I said before, "The Problem", that's what Adrien Broner likes to call himself, if I'm not mistaken. The problem that he really needs to focus on is his problem in Cincinnati. We're talking about "The Problem", Adrien Broner. He still got Maidana problems that I had to solve for him. We heard him talking about that he wanted to fight Shawn Porter again. Why, when you lost 11 rounds? You only won the 12th round.

BT: Did you hear that he referred to your company as "Hateweather Promotions"?

FM: Well everybody's entitled to their opinion. We can't knock him for that. If we really do our homework, I mean, this company has made crazy money. It's not always about the money, but a lot of times, with my lifestyle and my persona and everything else, money is always going to come up. He said "Hateweather Promotions"; I'm still trying to find out what AB stands for. Always broke? I mean, that's what I thought AB stands for. Last year, I think Leonard made more money than Adrien Broner. He gave himself a 10-figure name: About Billions. We know he ain't never seen 8 figures or 9 figures. He's barely seen 7 figures. It could be safe to say that just one of my cars costs more than he made in his whole career.

The thing is, this is honestly speaking, I think his first loss, didn't really come from Maidana. He really lost when he fought Daniel Ponce De Leon. We know he lost to Ponce De Leon. We know he lost to Shawn Porter. We know he got destroyed by Marcos Maidana. He fought Paulie Malignaggi when Paulie was 32 years old, almost 10 years older than he was, and when you look at the fight, you say to yourself, "If Paulie was a few years younger, Paulie would have beat Adrien." We know that a lot of Adrien Broner's opponents have been handpicked, and the ones that wasn't handpicked, he lost or he struggled. Ponce De Leon, he really lost. Shawn Porter, he really lost. Marcos Maidana, he lost. And then with Paulie, Paulie put up a good fight. If it was a few years earlier and you would have put them two in the squared circle, I think Paulie would have won.

You gotta realize, with Mayweather Promotions, we take our time and we build superstars. Mayweather Promotions holds the record for pay-per-view and we know Adrien Broner is a free TV type of fighter. We all know super fights happen on Saturday. I don't want Adrien to get nothing twisted as far as DC. I commend and take my hat off to everyone in DC. That arena, I truly believe we can have a sellout and I think we do have a sellout. That sellout is not because of Adrien Broner. That sellout is because of that last name and the first name on the promotional company. It's either Floyd Mayweather or Mayweather Promotions; however you want to write it, that's the reason why that arena is sold out. If you took me to Cincinnati and I fought in Cincinnati, I'd sell out the state! If you took me to Cincinnati, I couldn't fight in an arena. I'd have to fight at the baseball stadium and the whole state would show up. You gotta realize this, in Cincinnati, they giving tickets away for him.

BT: He mentioned that he wished the whole card would have been AB vs. TMT, and if it was, he joked that Gervonta Davis would be on Team AB. Does that surprise you at all?

FM: Yeah, I heard he was talking about Tank. Look at what I've done in a short period of time. I always want to put fighters in the best position possible. I told Tank, you know, you can come out to the West coast and get the best boxing. At the Mayweather Boxing Club, we have fighters from all around the world, working hard, competing, sparring, fighting, and working together. Everyone's ultimate goal is to become world champions some day, make a lot of money some day, and go down in the Hall of Fame so they can leave their mark in the sport of boxing and be a part of history. When I got with the kid Tank, I made sure that I helped him get a bank account. A very, very close friend of mine who I work with on a daily basis, he helped Tank get a house. It was a rented property because we're not just going to go out there and just buy you a house. That's your job to buy you a house down the line, but we're gonna make sure you have comfort, and that's what we did. We made sure he had comfort. We got him a $50,000 truck that we bought for him. We made sure that we were there for Tank. His mother was in Baltimore, so we moved her to a better neighborhood. With the fights that he has had with us, we put him in not a good predicament, a great predicament.

Like I said, I look at Tank like a son. As of lately, have we been communicating on the phone? Absolutely not because he wanted to go back to hang out in the inner city, which I don't think is a good influence. I told him what he needs to focus on is staying in the gym. I moved him to a better environment so mentally he can be comfortable so he can perform physically better. We wanted to get his mental right, so that's why when he was struggling, we wanted to make sure he was eating correctly. He was getting three meals a day; he was able move around and do things, but when you try to go back to the hood, people in the hood can feel like, "Oh, you coming back to shine on us?" People get offended by that sometimes. He's young and I was young too and I was like that before. At first, I was like, "I don't want to leave Grand Rapids." I wanted to keep going back to Grand Rapids, but Ben, I knew the more and more I go back, close friends of mine was ending up dead. I said, "This is not for me. This is not what I want." I had to keep myself away from that environment, and when I do go back to that environment, I want to go back to help them in a positive way as far as giving back on Thanksgiving, Christmas, school drives, toy drives; if it's something positive, I'm giving back to the inner city. I don't want to go back and I'm shining with diamond necklaces on, diamond watches on, and I'm like, "Look what I got!"

You got to realize this, when I was fighting and competing, I was fighting the toughest and the best competition out there when I was young, back to back. As we talk right now, is Adrien Broner going down in the Hall of Fame? It's possible. Anything is possible. Adrien Broner, right now, should be focused on Ashley. He's not fighting Floyd Mayweather. When Adrien was facing Shawn Porter, the reason why he lost was because he was focused on the wrong things. These small-time fighters think they're big because they got a couple necklaces, they run behind rap artists, a couple of videos go up on WorldStar, they made a couple dollars and they think they made it to the big league. If you think I'm bullshittin', you can call Sam Watson and he will tell you how Adrien Broner would call his phone every day trying to get in touch with me. "Please put me in touch with Floyd. I really want to talk to him." I think the best name for him is not "The Problem", it's "Snake". The reason why is because of this, say a snake is hurt and sick. You nurture that snake, you help that snake, you give that snake medicine, and you get that snake back to 100%. As soon as you turn your back, a snake will bite you. Basically, when everyone always went out there and said negative things about Adrien Broner, I still had his back. Always! He called me the other day and I tried to give him some positive advice, and then as soon as I'm not looking or I don't know what's going on, what he'd do? He's gonna bite me in the back. Adrien Broner, like I said before, he's got a lot to learn. I'ma continue to say that. He has a lot to learn. Hopefully he's making smart investments.
