FLOYD MAYWEATHER PLANNING MAY RETURN IN 2015; SAYS CANELO CAN FIGHT ON SAME DATE...IN MEXICO

"Yes, I plan on fighting in May," stated undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd "Money" Mayweather, who recently informed FightHype.com that he does indeed plan on making his next return to the ring on May 2, 2015 during the coveted Cinco de Mayo weekend. The news comes on the heels of Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya announcing that his company's star attraction, Canelo Alvarez, has "ordered" him to secure the same date for his first fight in 2015.

"I have orders from Canelo. He wants to fight on May [2nd] and I, as his promoter, have to get him a fight on these dates [he requests]," De La Hoya recently told Miguel Rivera of Boxingscene.com. In order to do that, however, it looks like De La Hoya will have to risk going head to head with Mayweather, who is still the biggest pay-per-view draw in the sport. When asked what he thought about De La Hoya's comments, Mayweather replied, "I mean, Canelo can fight on that date. He can fight in Mexico on that date."
