"Devon's excited about it. We were never demanding that the fight had to be in St. Louis. The fight makes more dollars and sense in St. Louis, but since this clown with no fan base that we're fighting wanna make demands because he has the belt temporarily...He ain't going to get no boxing lesson. He's gonna get an ass whoopin'. It's going to be hard luck for Bailey at the Hard Rock. Randall craps out September 8th," stated Devon Alexander's world-class trainer Kevin Cunningham, who shared his thoughts on the upcomign clash with IBF welterweight champion Randall Bailey taking place at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Check out what else he had to say!

BT: What's up Kevin. Now that the fight with Bailey finally has a home, give me your thoughts about fighting at the Hard Rock in Vegas.

KC: Devon's excited about it. We were never demanding that the fight had to be in St. Louis. The fight makes more dollars and sense in St. Louis, but since this clown with no fan base that we're fighting wanna make demands because he has the belt temporarily, he didn't want to come to St. Louis where we could've probably did 10,000 or better, it's all good because we always love to go to Vegas. I heard him say he wanted to go, so now, the fight's in Vegas. Let's see what his excuse is going to be now, because he's definitely going to get his ass whooped.

BT: With the fight being in Vegas as opposed to St. Louis, does that kind of help you guys in a sense, alleviating a lot of the additional work that you would have had to do, like making appearances and whatnot?

KC: Definitely. Like I said before, this guy basically did Devon a favor. Yeah, we have loyal fans and a huge following in St. Louis, but there's a lot of work that comes with that. I've cultivated that fan base for the last 20 years and every time Devon fights there, you have to put in the promotional work. With this situation being in Vegas, we can just focus on nothing but the game plan and enjoy just focusing on the fight. So it's a blessing for us.

BT: The fight started in Memphis and looked like it was going to be moved to San Antonio, but ultimately landed in Vegas with roughly 4 weeks left to go before the event. You guys have been training for quite some time now. When you're unsure of the venue, is it difficult to come up with an effective training plan?

KC: I mean, we've been grinding and we've got a helluva training and strength & conditioning program, so we're gonna be in tip top shape no matter where the fight is held. We've been preparing for this fight for the last 8 weeks now, and we've got another solid 2 1/2 weeks of training left. Devon's in tremendous shape. He's sharp and we're ready to go. He'll be sharp no matter where the fight venue is.

BT: Recently, you did an interview with FightHype's own David Kassel and you said a lot of the trash-talk that's been going on isn't really personal. Do you think...

KC: (Cutting in) You know, I can walk and chew bubble gum at the same time. I'm not just your average trainer that carries a towel or spit bucket. We got a whole promotional complay. I've promoted over 50+ fights in St. Louis. I manage, train; I know how to do it all. I know every aspect of the business, so I understand that you have to hype the fight up and build the fight up, but he's making comments like this fight is more than just hype and it's a personal thing. If he wants to take it there, we can go there too. He's gonna get it no matter how he wanna get it and wherever he wanna get it. It can be personal, it can be business, whatever; he's gonna get it. If he wants to be personal, we can take it to the personal level. He's gettin his ass whooped on September 8th and he's getting his title took. Ben, we in the take business on September 8th. We going to Vegas to be on some "take shit" business. We're only going to Vegas for one thing and one thing only, and that's to take Randall Bailey's IBF title. That's what we're going to Vegas for. So if he wants to take this personal, him, his homies, or whoever, they can take it however they want to take it, but he's getting took on September 8th.

BT: Yeah, I was wondering because I saw that he made some comments recently which gave me the impression that maybe he actually was taking some of the smack talk personal.

KC: For us, it wasn't personal, but if he wants to make it personal, we can. He's on these other websites being real disrespectful and he need to show a little respect because Devon Alexander is the only reason why he's making the highest purse of his career. The purse he's being paid for this fight, he ain't never made his whole career. You need to show a little appreciation, bruh. Don't get it twisted. Everything that comes out my mouth, you can take it to the bank. Like I said, Randall getting his ass whopped on September 8th. I said it and I meant it. He ain't going to get no boxing lesson. He's gonna get an ass whoopin'. It's going to be hard luck for Bailey at the Hard Rock. Randall craps out September 8th.
