"With all due respect, Broner is Broner and Mayweather is Mayweather. Again, with all due respect, we worked very hard and we know what we have to do when we enter into the ring. That's why I'm the world champion," stated WBC lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco, who laughed when the comparisons between Adrien Broner and Floyd Mayweather were brought up to him. Speaking to the media during a recent conference call to promote his title defense this Saturday against the undefeated former super featherweight champion, DeMarco made it clear that regardless of the comparisons to Mayweather, he's fully prepared for whatever Broner brings inside the ring.
"I know it's a tough fight, an important fight. I'm very well prepared because I know Adrien is a great talent, a great fighter. I'm extremely prepared," he explained. "My desire, my hunger is a lot greater than anybody elses. When I step into the ring, I only have one thing that I know; that I have to win...every opponent of mine, I respect and feel is a worthy opponent. This fight is very, very important to my career as well as Broner's career."
