ADAM RICHARDS: "MARCO HJUCK IS A BUM...I CALL HIM A CHUMP"

By Percy Crawford | November 20, 2012
ADAM RICHARDS:

"This guy is really getting under my skin. I would come out of retirement and fight him anywhere, but Germany. Where else has he fought? He won't fight anywhere else because he can get away with whatever he wants; that's a coward. That's not a fighter; that's a coward. That's not even a man. He hides behind his country because he can elbow people and hold them and try to choke them. He is a bum. Marco Huck is a bumÂ…Yes, he can hit hard with his elbow. I don't call this dude a champion. I call him a chump. Winning is winning, but winning dirty is a coward's way out. I would definitely come out of retirement to fight him in a heartbeat," stated former cruiserweight title challenger Adam Richards, who had a lot to say about current champion Marco Huck, who he suffered a defeat to in his last fight. Check it out!

PC: You haven't fought in 2 years. Where have you been and what have you been doing?

AR: I'm good, man. Actually, after the world title fight, I opened up my own company and it's doing very well and I'm very blessed. I'm staying busy trying to make that money.

PC: You are happily retired, but there is one fighter out there that really gets on your nerves. It was your last opponent. What is it about Marco Huck that gets under your skin?

AR: You know, after that fight, I talked with my family and even with my wife, andÂ…you got boxers and then you got people like Marco Huck. People like Marco Huck, when they are scared of losing, they use elbows and do what they need to do. I got 10 stitches in the back of my head after that fight. This is boxing, not MMA. I tried to have my lawyers fight it, but because I was in Germany, there was nothing that I could do. My hands were tied. When you put your heart and soul into something, and then to have it taken from youÂ…I was trying to fight him like a man and he fought me like a coward. But now, he is on the internet calling everybody out and saying he is one of the top boxers in the world and calling out the Klitschkos and calling out all the top guys, and I'm just like, really? This guy is really getting under my skin. Marco Huck is a bum.

PC: Where do you rank that experience that you had in Germany against Huck?

AR: It was pretty much the worst experience I have had in my career, with the officials and the way I was treated, yeah. I love Germany and the German people, but you go down there and want to get a little bit of hospitality. He just run his mouth, and I know part of it is him trying to sell tickets, but he's notÂ…everything that can go wrong went wrong down there. I'm not blaming anybody because at the end of the day, he did win and I lost, but it should have an asterisk by it. The official tells me, "You have a cut on the back of your head and its bleeding bad," but he didn't tell me it was gushing down my back. And then they stop it. I don't know, I have always kept quiet about it because a lot of peopleÂ…when you start talking about what if, people think you're making excuses, but this dude right here is just talking way too much trash. He hasn't even proved himself. He has one of the titles, he tried to move to heavyweight and lost against one of the weaker champions, and then he moved back down to cruiserweight, got his title back, and still won't fight outside of Germany. He doesn't even have to come to the States, just anywhere outside of Germany, but he won't do that. He needs to fight somewhere other than where he has everyone in his back pocket. That's what makes me sick. And now that I'm not fighting and just keeping up with it, I just sit back and watch and he's just a bum. He really is. He has the officials in his back pocket over there and he takes full advantage of that.

PC: Is it just Marco Huck that can bring you out of retirement or you are willing to get back in there again against anyone?

AR: It would just be Marco Huck. I have dreams about that fight. Me and Chazz Witherspoon had a war and I gave Chazz his credit because he was a warrior. We fought like gladiators. I have trained and sparred with Evander Holyfield for 6 years. I trained and worked with beasts. I worked with Tyson, but this guy is a bum. Yes, he can hit hard with his elbow. I don't call this dude a champion. I call him a chump. Winning is winning, but winning dirty is a coward's way out. I would definitely come out of retirement to fight him in a heartbeat. I would try to break every bone in his face. Someone needs to set this guy straight and shut his mouth. His mouth is constantly open.

PC: I hope something comes of this for you. I know you really want that fight. Is there anything else you wanna say before I let you go?

AR: I just appreciate you giving me the opportunity to vent a little bit. I hope a big change in boxing comes where they crack down a little more on illegal hits and things like that. It gives boxing a bad name. Boxing is an art; it's not like a prison fight. That's pretty much all. I really appreciate the opportunity to speak.
