Sources close to the information have informed us that future Hall of Famer "Sugar" Shane Mosley plans on announcing his return to boxing. The three-division world champion had previously announced his retirement shortly after his unanimous decision loss to undefeated WBC jr. middleweight Saul Alvarez this past May. Since that time, Mosley has stayed in the gym, primarily working with his son, Shane Mosley Jr., and his amateur career.
According to one source, Mosley was unimpressed with the recent performance of WBA welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi, who survived a late knockdown to score a razor-thin split decision victory over Pablo Cesar Cano. "Shane knows he still has enough in the tank to beat a champion like Paulie, so that's who he's gunning for," the source explained. It's unclear exactly when Mosley plans on making the announcement, but don't be surprised if he's in attendance at this Saturday's fourth encounter between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez.
