"Manny's team has already given the game plan away in what they're gonna do and what they wanna do to Marquez. But I think it's going to be a tough fight. Like I said, I think it's going to be another 50/50 fight. It's all gonna show in the first couple of rounds. The first 5 rounds will tell us who will win the fight. I don't think there will be a knockout. I think it'll go the distance again because they both know exactly what to expect, but I reckon Manny will take it," stated former jr. welterweight champion Amir Khan, who shared his thoughts on this weekend's fourth encounter between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez. Check it out!
BT: Before the interview started, we were talking about all the good fights that have taken place and are coming up, so I wanted to get your thoughts on a couple of them. I know you got a chance to watch Ricky Hatton's fight with Senchenko.
AK: Yeah, I saw Ricky Hatton fight. You know, I didn't think it was a good idea to come back, but he decided to come back and it's a shame what happened. But that's just boxing for you. It's the sport we're in.
BT: Did you see a rust Ricky Hatton in that ring? Did you see him able to do some of the things he's done in the past?
AK: Obviously, yeah, he was going to be rusty. I mean, it was such a long time. Three years is a long time to spend out of the ring and he still took this fight against a good opponent I believe. Sencehnko's not a bad fighter. I've seen him train in the gym. When I found out he was fighting him, I thought this guy is a tough guy and that shows what type of character Ricky is, you know, he was taking a tough fight. He could've taken an easier fight. If it was anyone else, they would've taken an easier fight. You can see in the fight that spending that time outside of the ring didn't do him any good. He looked in good shape, but it's just that three years is a long time being outside of the ring.
BT: Who do you like this weekend? This will be the first time you have to give a prediction for a Manny Pacquiao fight when he's not your stablemate, so what's your pick?
AK: I think Manny because, I mean, I've seen Marquez training on 24/7 and I think Marquez has probably been training a lot harder, the way he's being trained and working and stuff, and having private sessions and not showing his sparring, not giving no game plan away already. I think already Manny's team has already given the game plan away in what they're gonna do and what they wanna do to Marquez. But I think it's going to be a tough fight. Like I said, I think it's going to be another 50/50 fight. It's all gonna show in the first couple of rounds. The first 5 rounds will tell us who will win the fight. I don't think there will be a knockout. I think it'll go the distance again because they both know exactly what to expect, but I reckon Manny will take it.
