According to a source, undefeated welterweight Kell Brook has suffered an injury that could potentially force the postponement of his scheduled title shot against IBF champion Devon Alexander. The two were scheduled to meet on January 19, headlining a Showtime tripleheader that also featured Lucas Matthysse vs. Hank Lundy and Selcuk Aydin vs. Jesus Soto-Karass. Brook, however, has suffered an ankle injury that will require him to miss at least a week of training.
It's unclear at this point if the bout will still take place, if it will be postponed, or if it will be cancelled completely. More than likely, either the fight will simply be moved, or the entire January 19 card will be pushed back to a later date.
