GABRIEL ROSADO EAGER TO FIGHT LARA, TROUT, OR ANY TOP JR. MIDDLEWEIGHT: "THEY DON'T WANT ME AT 54"

GABRIEL ROSADO EAGER TO FIGHT LARA, TROUT, OR ANY TOP JR. MIDDLEWEIGHT:

"I'm trying to get in the mix, man, but it's like they don't want me at 54...I mean, they offering me fights, man, but everything's at 60. I mean, I tried 60; the only person I'd be interested in at 60 is if it were Peter Quillin, you know what I'm sayin', but other than that, I'm not going to be fighting at 60 just to fight at 60, man. I tried to get in the mix at 54...I'm trying to see what's going on between Trout and Lara because if that's not going down, I mean, I'd fight Lara...I know the difference in the way I perform when it comes to 54 and 60. I'm a lot more dominant at 54," stated jr. middleweight contender Gabriel Rosado, who talked about his eagerness to fight any of the top names at 154 pounds. Check out what else he had to say!

BT: What's good, Gabe?

GR: Chillin' man. I mean, I'm trying to get in the mix, man, but it's like they don't want me at 54.

BT: I take it you're having a hard time finding someone willing to fight you at 154?

GR: I mean, they offering me fights, man, but everything's at 60. I mean, I tried 60; the only person I'd be interested in at 60 is if it were Peter Quillin, you know what I'm sayin', but other than that, I'm not going to be fighting at 60 just to fight at 60, man. I tried to get in the mix at 54, but it's like, I don't know what's up. It's crazy.

BT: You had a couple fights at 160, but as far as I know, you've always maintained that you're a 154-pound fighter, right?

GR: Yeah. I mean, I hold my own at 60, but I'm a lot more dominant at 54, you know what I'm sayin'.

BT: Who are you hoping to get at 154?

GR: I'm trying to see what's going on between Trout and Lara because if that's not going down, I mean, I'd fight Lara. I'm assuming that Trout is probably overpricing himself. I guess they tried to put them on the Floyd card, but I don't think there's a lot of money in that fight because, you know, they gotta pay Floyd all that money and they gotta pay Canelo all that money, and then if Danny Garcia and Matthysse is on that card, you know, they gotta pay Danny a lot of money, so whoever else is on that undercard is going to take a paycut, you know what I mean. I'm trying to get back in the mix and it's like, alright, if y'all not going to fight each other, then one of y'all fight me.

BT: Do you think either one of those guys would be willing to fight you?

GR: I know Trout was saying he would fight me on Twitter or whatever, whatever, but that didn't fall through. I'm pretty sure a fight between me and Lara could happen 'cause nobody really wants to fight him. He's Cuban, but he really ain't got a following, so it's like, you know, what can they do with Lara, you know what I mean. It's crazy. It's like I can't get in at 54, man, so I don't even know.

BT: Earlier you said "they" were offering you fights at 160. When you say "they", are you talking about Golden Boy Promotions?

GR: Yeah, Golden Boy. I mean, I was even talking about with K9 [Cornelius Bundrage]. I'll go with K9 just to get back in at 54. You know, K9 want to fight; ain't nobody want to fight K9, so it's like, get me K9, you know what I mean. They gotta get K9 a fight because he's still under contract. Get me K9. Or who's going to fight Lara? Give me the Lara fight, you know what I mean.

BT: Or even Angulo.

GR: Exactly! We asked for Angulo, but they said that he's sitting until December because the doctors won't let him fight until December.

BT: Given your Philly roots, I would think they might want to get you on that Bernard Hopkins card in October.

GR: That's what I'm sayin'. It's the perfect thing. You know, my mentor, you put me on that card with either Kid [Peter Quillin]...I mean, I don't know if Kid is fighting. I guess Kid is waiting for awhile or he's looking for another fight. I could be on that card with either Lara or K9, but it's like every time we pitch a fight at 54 with Golden Boy, they come back with a middleweight fight, so it's like what the fuck, you know what I mean. Give me K9 on that card, you know. They didn't want K9 in the main event against Cotto I guess, but I'm pretty sure they'll put him on the undercard of Bernard, you know, a co-main event or something like that. I don't even know, man. I'm trying to figure out what's up. It's crazy, man. Even me and Trout on the Bernard card would be good, you know what I'm sayin', because it ain't like he got a fan base anyway. Like for real, for real, he really don't have a fan base, so if that fight was on the East Coast, it makes perfect sense. I don't know why these dudes keep bringing these middleweight fights up to me. It's crazy. I'm not going to fight at middleweight unless it's straight up Kid Chocolate, you know what I mean.

BT: So just to be crystal clear, although you're willing to lace 'em up at 160 for a significant bout, your preference is to fight at 154 where you're most comfortable.

GB: That's all I need. I mean, I moved up and I fought GGG because I knew I was going to get held up on that title fight for the IBF. I already knew about Ishe and K9 before that shit was out. I was like, man, I'm not going to get that title shot no time soon. Nobody wanted to fight GGG and then they offered me some good money, so I was like, alright, fuck it, I'll fight GGG. It is what it is. And then I thought I was going to get back to 54, you know what I'm sayin, because I was like, alright, fuck it, I know I'm not a legit middleweight. I was only like 164 the day of the fight when I fought GGG. When I fought Love, I was a little bigger; like I was a couple pounds behind him, but still though, I know the difference in the way I perform when it comes to 54 and 60. I'm a lot more dominant at 54. We'll see how the shit plays out though, man.
