Moments ago, at Pepsi Coliseum in Quebec City, Canada, hard-hitting WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev kept his undefeated record intact, scoring a devastating 2nd round knockout of top contender Ismayl Sillakh. Sillakh started off boxing from the outside, looking to land quick combinations before dancing out of harm's way. Kovalev pressed the action, however, as he quickly cut off the ring.
By the second round, Kovalev had already closed the distance, finding a home for his big punches. A short right hand on the temple from Kovalev dropped Sillakh early in the round. Although he beat the count, the end was evident as Kovalev quickly landed a thunderous right hand followed by two lefts that put Sillakh down and out for the count.
