Saturday night, at the Ruben Rodriguez Coliseum in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, unified jr. welterweight champion Danny Garcia successfully defended his titles, scoring a majority decision victory over game challenger Mauricio Herrera. After 12 rounds of action, the judges officially scored the bout 114-114, 116-112, and 116-112 in favor of the champion, Danny Garcia, while Showtime commentators Al Bernstein, Paulie Malignaggi, and Steve Farhood saw it 96-95, 97-93, 97-94 in favor Herrera. Many observers, both ringside and watching at home, also felt that Herrera had done enough to walk away with the victory. As you can imagine, once the decision was read, it didn't take long for the social networks to light up with activity. Check out what a few fans, fighters, and media alike had to say as they took to Twitter to share some of their thoughts.

Just saw the fight, hats off to both guys. Herrera came in with the right style to nullify Garcia and did enough IMO to win the fight...

Summing up tonight's #Showtime card, #Herrera got jerked off by the judges, and Malik Scott turned a #boxing ring into a swimming pool!

@StephenEspinoza Herrera, but it was close. Don't have a problem with champ retaining title. To be the champ you must really beat the champ.

7-5 Garcia. I tend to favor power punches landed. Very close though. "@Attyg3: How did you score the fight SE? Don't pull a Switzerland."
