"I think they got him the right opponent. I just hope Jermain don't get hurt one day. They already said he had bleeding on his brain at one time. He had to clear that up and get the okay for them to allow him to fight," stated world-class trainer Jack Loew, who shared his thoughts on the middleweight title clash between current champion Sam Soliman and former champion Jermain Taylor. Although Loew believes Soliman is the right type of opponent for Taylor to regain his championship form, he's concerned that too many wars, particularly with his former pupil Kelly Pavlik, may have took too much out of him.
"Jermain has been in some rough fights and I'm gonna tell you, I think when he got beat by Kelly Pavlik, that took a lot out of him. He took some tremendous shots in that corner and he took some tremendous shots in the second fight. And then he started getting knocked out and hurt," Loew explained. "I like Jermain Taylor. As a fighter, he is a class act and a great dude. I love talking to him and I wish him the best, man. I wish Kelly could get his shit together and do something like that and come back, but he's too far gone. But I admire guys that come back if their health is not at risk and that's my only concern with Jermain."
