Moments ago, undefeated WBA featherweight champion Nicholas Walters knocked out former champion Nonito Donaire at 2:59 of the 6th round at the StubHub Center in Carson, California. Walters dominated the fight from the onset, walking Donaire down behind a consistent jab and overhand rights. Although Donaire was able to land a nice left hook that appeared to wobble Walters momentarily at the end of the 2nd round, it wasn't enough to keep the younger, hungrier champion from closing the show in emphatic fashion.
