FightHype.com was able to briefly catch up with former middleweight champion Iran "The Blade" Barkley to get an update on his health after the recent scare he had. Although his nurse walked in during the conversation to perform further tests, Barkley seemed very upbeat and had a message for his fans.
"Nothing is gonna keep me down. They said my intestines were bleeding or something and as you hear, they just came in to do more tests, but nothing is gonna keep me down, brotha," the three-division former world champion commented. "I'm gonna be okay and thank you for checking on me and all the fans who were concerned. I'm a fighter though, so it won't hold me down."
