"Man, I'm gonna be honest with you, I always thought that my son and Manny Pacquiao would eventually fight, but I'll be honest, I wasn't sure if I would be in his corner or even involved at all. So I gotta tell you, man, I'm on top of the world right now being in my son's corner," stated world-class trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr., who is extremely pleased with what he's been seeing in training camp as his son, undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather, prepares for the highly-anticipated May 2 showdown with Manny Pacquiao. There was a time when Mayweather Sr. wasn't sure about the status of both his professional and personal relationship with his son, but not, both father and son appear to be on the same page and are working in harmony leading up to the biggest fight in boxing.
"I'm on top of the world in terms of being able to corner him period, but especially for this fight because that was never a guarantee with the way it had got at one point. I'm as happy as I can be and come May 2nd, it's here. The talking and shit is over and we gonna show the world what I have been telling you for years, and that's that Manny "PacMan" Pacquiao is not on the same level as my son," Mayweather Sr. explained during a recent conversation with FightHype.com "Me and you have discussed this fight for years, both me being on the outside looking in and now that I'm in his corner, and the outcome has always been the same in my mind. But honestly, I feel like I'm on top of the world, man. There ain't no other way to say it because I have the opportunity to be involved in the biggest fight of my son's career. That means a lot to me!"
