VIRGIL HUNTER SAYS CARL FROCH IS AFRAID TO AVENGE LOSS; FAMILY ADVISED HIM NOT TO FIGHT ANDRE WARD AGAIN

"Well, you know, like I said earlier, I'd like to see him get into a groove and have another fight as soon as possible. I consider Carl Froch one of those guys for him to continue to get into a groove with. We'd have fought Carl Froch out the garage, you know. The fighter that fought the other night would've beat Carl Froch because he wouldn't have been so defensive. He would've left himself open. You know, Carl doesn't want to fight," stated Virgil Hunter, world-class trainer of super middleweight king Andre Ward, who had a lot to say about super middleweight champion Carl Froch and his reluctance to avenge his loss. Check it out!

VIRGIL HUNTER ON CARL FROCH FIGHTING ANDRE WARD:

Well, you know, like I said earlier, I'd like to see him get into a groove and have another fight as soon as possible. I consider Carl Froch one of those guys for him to continue to get into a groove with. We'd have fought Carl Froch out the garage, you know. The fighter that fought the other night would've beat Carl Froch because he wouldn't have been so defensive. He would've left himself open. You know, Carl doesn't want to fight. Eddie Hearn and I were talking about that. I basically told Eddie it's really not good for him to talk about this and that, whether you fight in Nottingham or how many people you're going to draw at Wembley, because let's be real, George Groves is the one that made that Wembley fight. Carl Froch didn't even want to fight George Groves again. I mean, I think they had to just drag him into the ring just about. I don't know who made him fight. I guess the money got so big. I don't know. He did not want to fight Groves again. The first time, Groves intimidated Froch, talking crazy. Then with the controversy of the first one, he was not intending to fight Groves again. Groves kept pushing and pushing for that fight and I think the governing bodies forced that fight, if I'm not mistaken, and kind of left him with no way out. He went to a sports psychiatrist and everything, so he had some reservations about that second fight.

I give him credit. Froch was better prepared for the second fight. I was there and I mean, that ring was tiny. Everything was put in Froch's favor for that fight. That ring was tiny. Groves made that fight though in terms of drawing the people. Groves generated the interest in the fight and he promoted the fight because he did all the talking. Froch wouldn't even talk to Groves, wouldn't even respond to him, so he was not instrumental in making that fight. He's not responsible for drawing 80,000 people. George Groves is and he has to accept that. George Groves was the reason why Wembley filled up that night. He had to deal with unfinished business from the first fight, the controversy in the first fight, so he was the draw. George Groves was the draw, but kudos to Froch, you know, he came through, so that was a good thing for him.

You know, they can give him his accolades, Ben, in the presence of people and fans and the media. They can give him all the accolades they want. When he's alone, he's got to miserable to know that I am literally afraid to avenge this loss. He talks about it when you put a mic in his face, but deep down, he doesn't want it. To even make it more worse than that, his own brother, Lee, personally told me that him and his family do not want Froch to fight us again, they do not want to go through that again, they do not want him to fight, and they wanted to talk him out of that fight. Not that it matters what his brother is saying; he's the one that fights, but it's not only an impact on him, but an impact on his family. Every time they give him the accolades, he can enjoy the moment, but when he's alone, it's got to be really miserable to know that, look man, it's better to just let the inevitable be the inevitable. Then at least you gave it a go so you can live with the situation than just turn away from it with a bunch of excuses.

He says, "Well, there's only be 30-40,000 coming to Wembley because it's Andre Ward." But wait a minute. You said you were the draw. How come 80,000 won't come again? That's why I said what I said about George Groves being the draw. Mayweather gets the same regardless of who he fights. So he's contradicting himself right there and making himself look bad. But if he wants the next fight, we'll be glad to give it to him.
