Moments ago at the USF Sun Dome in Tampa, Florida, undefeated welterweight champion Keith Thurman stopped former champion Luis Collazo after 7 rounds of action. Although Thurman was comfortably ahead on the scorecards, Collazo made it extremely interesting when he hurt the undefeated champion with some devastating body shots in the 5th round. Collazo appeared to be coming on in the subsequent rounds as Thurman was fighting off of his back foot. After the 7th round, however, the corner of Collazo stopped the fight after he informed them that he couldn't see out of his eye due to a cut. Thurman comes out stalking. Collazo backs up to the ropes. Right to the body lands for Thurman. Collazo touches him with a jab. Left from Collazo gets in, but Thurman makes him pay with a body shot. Another right to the body for Thurman. Now Thurman gets in a left hook. Collazo gets in a left upstairs. Collazo touches him with a right. Not much landed by either guy, but I give the round to Thurman.
