ANGEL HEREDIA CRITICAL OF CANELO ALVAREZ; SAYS FIGHT WITH KHAN WAS UNFAIR AND HE SHOULD FIGHT GOLOVKIN

"The way the fight was set up, everything was in favor of Canelo. I think it's very unfair. I think it's very unfair the way Oscar De La Hoya negotiated the terms...That 160 is just an excuse not to fight GGG. We all know it's all bullshit...I think GGG deserves the fight and I think he would handle it pretty good," stated world-class Strength & Conditioning Coach Angel Heredia, who shared his thoughts on Canelo Alvarez. Check it out!

LS: What did you think of the Amir Khan and Canelo fight, because it was Amir moving up and I know he did a lot of strength exercises to put on the weight properly? Do you think he looked good or could he have done something different in that fight?

AH: I think Amir, to me, was winning the first four rounds and he looked great. He was doing very good; it's just that it's difficult to fight a guy who is probably 30 pounds heavier than you the next day. And those 30 pounds he has on himself, he's comfortable moving weight. Amir Khan, I can guarantee you him being 150 was probably the most he could get after eating at a buffet lunch. But Amir Khan did a great job and respect to him. He's a good guy. I'm just really sorry to hear and I'm really sorry to see it because I was there at the fight. I was really going for him, but he showed that he's a good boxer. He has the speed, he has the qualities, and he has the skills, but unfortunately the way the fight was set up, everything was in favor of Canelo. I think it's very unfair. I think it's very unfair the way Oscar De La Hoya negotiated the terms. I think every time Canelo fights, they do everything on his terms. I just don't think it's fair, you know. As for Amir, maybe he can come back down to 140. That's where he was at his best and I think he can do it. I think at 140, he'd be right in. At 140 and 147, he could be in some incredible fights.

LS: Angel, you more than anyone can read more into the physical appearance of people. Canelo has said he's not a middleweight and some people are saying he is a middleweight. The way he weighs before and after a fight, is he a middleweight and can he make 160 no problem? Or does he...

AH: (Cutting in) Easy! Easy! That 160 is just an excuse not to fight GGG. We all know it's all bullshit. Definitely he can. Just look at him the way he comes in at the scales. Look at the weight he makes. Then look at the weights he makes after. Whatever weight they give you the next day, it's not accurate because nobody really checks the scale and says "he's 160 or 165." They just throw up a number. So basically yes, I'm sure he's capable of doing it. I don't understand why the fight just doesn't go on. I think GGG deserves the fight and I think he would handle it pretty good.
