[VIDEO] ANTHONY JOSHUA: MADE TO MOVE - NOBODY EVER MOVED FORWARD STANDING STILL

By Press Release | April 18, 2017

Lucozade Sport is set to screen a moving tribute to the nation's boxing icon, Anthony Joshua, ahead of his world title fight against Wladimir Klitschko on Saturday 29th April.

The short film, which stars Anthony Joshua and his mum Yeta, takes the audience on Joshua's journey from Watford to Wembley. Starting with the champion's humble beginnings in his North London home, the film charts the pivotal moments in his life, and culminates in his title fight in the ring. It brings to life the rarely disclosed highs and lows of the champion, where he demonstrates his consistent drive to move forward.

The film seeks to inspire Joshua's widespread following and the public to move more and lead more active and healthy lifestyles. For, as he so rightly says, 'nobody ever moved forward standing still.'

Anthony Joshua says: "I'm not usually one to look back but I liked the concept for the short film. It has been a real journey from growing up in Watford to fighting at Wembley Stadium.  Everything in between; all the things I have done and all the people that have supported me, have made me who I am today and this film illustrates that. I am excited to share my journey with my fans and I hope that it inspires the hunger in others."

Steven Hind, Lucozade Sport Marketing Director at Lucozade Ribena Suntory says: "Anthony Joshua personifies Made to Move™. His rise to the pinnacle of his sport shows that this is a man who's never stood still, and while Watford to Wembley is not far geographically, emotionally it is immense. We're proud to support an athlete inspiring more people to get active than perhaps any other right now."

"Saturday 29th April marks a monumental date not only in the boxing world, but in the UK's sporting calendar as our celebrated ambassador and British champion takes to the ring. In the hope of inspiring the next generation of British champions, we wanted to celebrate his remarkable journey to this point and bring to life the story behind his ever-growing success and desire to move forwards."

Anthony Joshua is an ambassador for Lucozade Sport's Made to Move Campaign, aiming to get 1 million people moving more by 2020, which kicked into action in October 2016 when Joshua led fans on a flash-mob training run in Hampstead Heath. The drive to keep people moving and motivated then saw the Olympian host the first of Lucozade Sport's Made to Move Sessions; a series of streamed workout classes hosted by a range of influential sport and fitness ambassadors, where he got over 60,000 tuning in to take part.

The film will be broadcast on Sky Sports on the night of the Super Heavyweight World Championship Fight against Wladimir Klitschko on Saturday 29 April as the last advert before Anthony Joshua enters the ring.
