Moments ago at the Madison Square Garden in New York, New York, unified jr. welterweight champion Terence Crawford made a dominant defense of his titles, winning every round enroute to stopping challenger Felix Diaz in the 10th round. Although Diaz was game in the first couple of rounds, it didn't take long for Crawford to make adjustments and start taking over the fight. By the third round, the champion was landing crisp, accurate punches, causing Diaz's right to start swelling.
Trying to force the action in the fight, Diaz got more aggressive in the 4th, but that only allowed Crawford to open up and land more power shots behind a consistent jab. By the middle rounds, Crawford was having his way as he began to easily pick him apart. Diaz came alive with some good shots in the 7th round, but that only brought out more punishment from Crawford, who taunted the challenger and began landing some devastating uppercuts and body shots.
Crawford really started to put hands on Diaz in the 8th, landing two solid body shots that had the challenger momentarily thinking about taking a knee. It only got worse for Diaz in the following round as Crawford began walk Diaz down and batter him from corner to corner. In the 10th, Crawford continued to deliver punishment, taunting Diaz as he continued to land devastating uppercuts. That finally prompted Joel Diaz, the trainer of Felix Diaz, to stop the fight as soon as the round ended.
