By Press Release | May 24, 2017

Under Armour has added boxer Gervonta "Tank" Davis to its growing athlete roster of incredible young talent. With a current professional boxing record of 18-0 with 17 knockouts, Davis has become a must-see fighter in the super-featherweight division while consistently dominating his opponents. His undeniable talent landed him in the professional ranks at the age of 18 and he hasn't looked back since. He just defended his IBF super-featherweight title with an impressive performance, resulting in a third round knockout on May 20th.

Under Armour's addition of 22-year-old Davis bolsters a growing team of athletes, a roster that shows how a dedication to training behind the curtain pays off under the bright lights and the biggest stages of sports. Gervonta's commitment to himself, his coaches, the sport of boxing, the city of Baltimore – and now Under Armour – showcases the 22-year-old athlete's devotion to mastering his craft.

Gervonta's development is taking place at the esteemed Upton Boxing Center in Baltimore where he was born and raised. Davis has been training here since the age of seven, when his uncle stepped in to put him in the ring as a positive outlet for his dogged demeanor. Since then, "Tank" has been led by boxing trainer Calvin Ford, who has coached local youth for two-plus decades. The sense of community and desire to honor those who helped him mature into a champion keep him close to home, which is why he's decided to continue to live and train in Baltimore to this day.

Davis joins Under Armour's athlete line up of fellow boxers including International Boxing Federation (IBF), World Boxing Association (WBA) and International Boxing Organization (IBO) Heavyweight Champion Anthony Joshua, Middleweight Champion and World Boxing Organization (WBO) Light Middleweight Champion Canelo Álvarez and two-time US Lightweight Champion Mikaela Mayer.

In addition, Under Armour welcomes Davis to its world class athlete roster that features back-to-back NBA MVP Stephen Curry, five-time Super Bowl Champion Tom Brady, 2015 MLB NL MVP Bryce Harper, three-time Cy Young Award Winner and 2014 NL MVP Clayton Kershaw, 2015 PGA Player of the Year Jordan Spieth, 2015 NFL MVP Cam Newton and first round draft pick, Leonard Fournette.
