Earlier tonight at the StubHub Center in Carson, California, Srisaket Sor Rungvisai left no doubt that his majority decision title victory back in March was no fluke, knocking out former champion Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez with a devastating right hand in the fourth round of their anticipated rematch. With the victory, Sor Rungvisai retained his WBC Super Flyweight title.
"For the first fight, I only trained for two months. For this fight, I trained for four months. I knew I was going to knock him out," he commented immediately after the fight. Gonzalez never really looked comfortable in the fight as Sor Rungvisai was getting the better of the exchanges. In the 4th round, Sor Rungvisai dropped Gonzalez for the first time with a right hand. Although Gonzalez beat the count, Sor Rungvisai wasted no time in finishing him with another right hand that left the former champion laid out on the canvas.
