ANTHONY JOSHUA STOPS GAME CARLOS TAKAM IN 10TH

Moments ago at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, unified IBF & WBA heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua made a successful defense of his titles, stopping very game late-replacement challenger Carlos Takam in the 10th round. Relive all the action in FightHype's round-by-round results.

ROUND 1

Joshua fires his jab. Takam circles on the outside. Short right lands for Joshua down the middle. Takam continues to circle; not firing much. Joshua digs to the body. Another right to the body gets in for Joshua. Takam tries a right, but falls short. Takam doing a lot of movement. Jab lands for Joshua. Uneventful round won by the champion.

ROUND 2

Both men trade jabs. Joshua just misses with a right. A clash of heads. Takam fires a jab. Uppercut gets in for Joshua. Good right lands for Joshua. Good left hook lands for Joshua and Takam staggers a bit. Right from Joshua. Left hook lands for Joshua. They trade jabs. Takam digs to the body. Jab lands for Takam. Takam circles. Left hook gets in for Takam. The nose of Joshua bleeding a lot; likely from that headbutt earlier. They trade jabs. Round to Joshua.

Right cross lands for Joshua. Takam circles on the outside. Right to the body for Joshua. Takam digs to the body. They trade rights. Takam still moving a lot. Joshua trying to figure out how to cut off the ring. Right lands for Joshua, but the he eats a headbutt. Takam gets in a left hook. Joshua answers with his own. Uppercut to the body lands for Joshua. Another one. Not much action, but round to Takam.

They trade jabs. Joshua gets in a right during an exchange. Takam grazes him with a right. Joshua throws a 4-punch combo that gets the crowd excited, but nothing serious landed. Takam circles. Clubbing right lands for Joshua. They both taunt each other. Takam lands a right; Joshua answers with an uppercut. Takam is cut over the right eye; he talks to the ref to complain. Joshua lands a right. They trade shots. Short right lands for Joshua. Takam lands a left, but a good right lands for Joshua and Takam staggers and his glove touches the canvas for a knockdown. He takes the count. Joshua jumps on him, but end of round. Round to Joshua.

ROUND 5

Joshua fires a combo. Takam lands a jab. Joshua lands a good left hook. Right to the body for Takam. A break in the action so the doctor can look at the eye. Stiff jab lands for Joshua. Takam bulls forward and digs to the body. Right lands for Takam down the middle. 1-2 from Takam. Uppercut and a left hook lands for Joshua. Takam bulls forward. They wrestle on the inside. Joshua smiling at Takam. Jab lands for Joshua. Takam lands a combo. Round to Joshua.

Jab lands for Joshua. Again. Takam lands a left and a right. Joshua just walks him down. More jabs from Joshua. Takam lunging in, but falling short with shots. Jab from Joshua. Again. 1-2 from Joshua. Takam digs a 1-2 to the body. Another body shot for Takam. Joshua lands a hook. Good body shot from Takam, but he eats a hard right from Joshua. They trade hooks; Joshua's was bigger. Good counter right lands for Joshua. They trade on the inside. Takam digs to the body. Stiff jab lands for Joshua. Another. Round to Joshua.

Double jab from Joshua. More jabs from Joshua. Takam looks confused. Jab lands for Joshua. Takam gets in a right. Good 1-2 lands for Takam. Joshua just smiles at him and gets back on the jab. Joshua got his mouth open a lot; leans on Takam agains the ropes...might be getting a little tired. Right lands for Takam. Another right gets in for Takaml; Joshua walks right to him. Clubbing right lands for Joshua. Another. Joshua fires a combo, but most of it blocked. Round to Joshua, but he was taking some deep breaths...gotta wonder if he might have breating issues from the broken nose or stamina issues; he hasn't really been pressed by Takam. It was a better round for Takam though.

Takam fires the right, but it's partially blocked. Takam fires to the body. Joshua answers. A break in the action to fix some tape on Joshua's gloves. Joshua fires his jab. Overhand right gets in for Takam. Joshua digs a 1-2 to the arms of Takam. Joshua lands some body shots. Right lands for Joshua. Takam lands a jab. 1-2 lands for Takam. They trade jabs. Right to the body lands for Joshua. Round to Joshua.

Joshua 80 Takam 71

ROUND 9

Doctor takes a look at Takam's cuts before the round starts. Jab lands for Joshua. Takam digs to the body on the inside. Lunging right from Takam. They treade on the inside. Looping overhand right from Takam just misses. Right lands for Joshua. Good counter right lands for Takam. Joshua lands a right hook. Takam fires back. Jab lands for Joshua. Jab to the body lands for Joshua. Takam fires a combo. Joshua lands a nice left hook. Decent round for Takam, but still not enough to win it on my card.

Right down the middle lands for Takam. Left hook lands for Takam. Joshua digs to the body. Right hook lands for Joshua. Uppercut lands for Joshua. Left and a right lands for Joshua. HARD 1-2 lands for Joshua...Takam backs up. Another right lands for Joshua....that's it. The referee jumps in to make a poor stoppage.
