PC: Big Floyd, how is everything going, man?
FM: Staying busy, man. I got a lot of fighters that either just fought or have a fight coming up. I went to Chicago and Oklahoma and won fights with my guys. The only one that lost was my female fighter, Yolanda.
PC: Yeah, I saw she dropped a majority decision, so it must have been close.
FM: Honestly man, she told me she got hypnotized before the fight and I could tell. She forgot everything that I taught her, man. But honestly, I think she won the fight, but I still didn't like the way she fought. But it was in California and that's close to where that Latino chic who she fought was from, so, you know how that goes. But I didn't like how she fought at all.
PC: Who do you have coming up now?
FM: I got my man fighting in Oklahoma and I have a guy coming up in Texas...Houston. My girl should be going again soon. She tried to get that rematch with the girl that just beat her, but I'm not sure if she's going to get it. But yeah man, I'm gonna tell yo, man, I have been very busy. I have been training 6 to 7 guys a day, man. It's going to be good when they finish with my gym, man. I think I will have a good stable of fighters.
PC: What did you think of Bernard Hopkins' fight against Chad Dawson?
FM: Honestly man, when I first saw it, I thought Bernard was bullshittin', but, you know, they looked at his arm, or his shoulder, or whatever, and I guess he separated it. But I aint gonna lie man, at first, I thought Bernard was bullshittin'; faking, you know? But I can't call it, man. It's hard to say if a guy is faking an injury or not, but I gotta tell you man, that was one of the ugliest fights I have seen in a long time. The little bit they did give us was ugly as shit, but I didn't agree with the referee's decision to say that was a technical knockout, man. I thought it was a...I thought it should have been called a...
PC: No decision?
FM: There you go. I thought it should have been ruled a no decision from the get go. But you know they took the title from Chad though?
PC: Yeah, Bernard got the belt back and honestly, I'm not sure if they're gonna even do it again.
FM: I think they should do it again, man. That should have never been ruled a knockout anyway, man.
PC: Did you watch the Donaire fight, and if so, what did you think of his performance?
FM: Let me tell you something man, that lil' guy he was fighting was slick, man. He had good defense, he just didn't have a good skill set. He had no offense to follow up his defense. It's one of the things I teach as a trainer and that's to be able to throw punches from your defense, slip and punch, catch and punch, and so on.
PC: Right after Lil Floyd fought Victor Ortiz, Freddie Roach came out and said that he thought Lil Floyd looked slow and flat-footed...
FM: (CUtting in) What the fuck is Freddie Roach talking about, man? Who is more flat-footed than Pacquiao? Anyone who believes Freddie Roach is crazy. Floyd would beat the shit out of Pacquiao, man. And Lil Floyd didn't do nothing wrong in his last fight. The last thing that the referee tells you is protect yourself at all times. Ortiz was looking for a way out and he got it in the form of a left hand followed by a right. Nobody should believe Freddie Roach no more, man. He's saying anything. PC: Will you be attending Pacquiao/Marquez since it's right up the block from you?
FM: I might try to make it out there. I have a fighter fighting on the 19th, the week after, so we will see. I will try to make it out there. I like going to those fights, man, but we will see.
PC: How do you see that fight going? I know you thought Marquez won the first two. What do you think of this one?
FM: Marquez won't win this one. Marquez is gonna get his ass whooped. Watch what I tell you. Marquez is gonna get the shit beat out of him. Freddie Roach knows that. They know Floyd is the only one that can beat Pacquiao.
PC: Oscar threw it out there and then said he was only kidding about making a comeback. He seems to be keeping himself in shape and fighting his demons pretty well so far.
FM: Yeah man, I don't know if he will fight again, but it wouldn't surprise me. I told you that awhile back. It's tough for these guys to walk away. I can honestly say though man, I never witnessed any of that stuff he was doing. I guess when he retired, he figured he would do what he wanted to do, but I never saw any of that. I wish him the best though, man. He could fight again. There are fights out there for him. I gotta go in this bank Percy, but I will call you back my man.
