FLOYD MAYWEATHER SR: "PACQUIAO SHOULDN'T BE ABLE TO FIGHT AGAIN...HE CAN'T DO NOTHING"

By Percy Crawford | November 23, 2011
FLOYD MAYWEATHER SR:

"If you look at Manny Pacquiao's last couple of fights in Las Vegas, he didn't look too good...He can't do nothing, man. Look here man, guess what? If Marquez hit him with right hands, what do you think Lil Floyd gonna do? Man, Pacquiao was not hitting Marquez. Marquez was making him miss...Pacquiao shouldn't be able to fight again, for real, if they wanna get down to business and find out what's going on in this sport, but they don't want to do that. They want to make sure Lil Floyd gets whooped and that still ain't happening, and it ain't gonna happen because Pacquiao fights like an amateur. That dude ain't nothing but an amateur. I'm going to tell you just like it is, man. He ain't got nothing to whoop Lil Floyd with," stated world-class trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr., who shared his thoughts on Manny Pacquiao's recent performance against Juan Manuel Marquez and what it means should a fight with his son ever come to fruition. You don't want to miss what else he had to say. Check it out!

PC: I heard you picked up a win in Houston with Mickey Bey last weekend. How did that go?

FM: Yeah, Mickey almost took a fall, man. In fact, if I didn't have the mouthpiece in my hand...he fought a dude with 70-something fights. I think Mickey got like 17 fights or so; he doesn't have 20 fights yet, I know that. I had the mouthpiece in my hand and the Lord does things in mysterious ways. Some kind of way, it was meant for me to take that mouthpiece down the steps with me and that's what I did. They had to stop the action and put the mouthpiece back in his mouth. We got to talking and we had a discussion and I came down the steps to sit down and that's where the problem was right there. I had to let Mickey know what he was doing. I was trying to tell him what to do, but the whole thing is I took that mouthpiece down and even though I didn't know I took it down at that time, the Lord did it that way for us. It gave Mickey a little bit of time because, man, I told the ref, "Man, I got his mouthpiece." So they had to stop them from fighting. He reported them back to the corner and then he had to come over and get the mouthpiece from me. You look at all of that stuff and it took about 20 seconds to do all of that.

PC: I know it was unintentional, but it was like a veteran trick in a lot of ways; kinda like spilling water in the corner to buy some time for the fighter.

FM: (Laughing) that's what it turned out to be like. It wasn't no intentional thing with me, but it worked out that way. Mickey ended up winning a close, unanimous decision, but at the end of the day, he won it.

PC: That's all that matters.

FM: That's all that matters. And I tell you what don't matter; it don't even matter about Pacquiao either no more. Lil Floyd gonna whoop that ass, believe me.

PC: You think that's a done deal, huh?

FM: That's a done show right there. Man, look here man, look here, let me tell you something. Pacquiao, man, if they think this man can whoop Lil Floyd, why he got to fight Marquez over and over again? I mean, if you think a guy can whoop a guy, then you go on with that fight next.

PC: It's funny you say that because Lil Floyd told my partner the same thing. He said he got it right the first time.

FM: One whoopin' was all he needed from Lil Floyd and he drunk piss and all of that shit to attempt to fight Lil Floyd. Pacquiao ain't never made his opponents drink piss (laughing). Marquez told everyone that Pacquiao can't beat Lil Floyd. De La Hoya was in there with both of them, and Marquez, and they both said Pacquiao ain't beating no Lil Floyd. They ain't got no reason to lie, man. They would make themselves look like a fool. The writing is on the wall right now. It looks like he was trying to come down off of some stuff when he fought Marquez, and then they say Marquez might have had something in him. I don't know, but whatever it was, if Marquez had it in him, Marquez wasn't doing nothing wrong anyway. It was even-steven, so it didn't make no difference. If you look at Manny Pacquiao's last couple of fights in Las Vegas, he didn't look too good. He looked like shit against Mosley and Marquez, but when they put him in Texas, where the testing isn't as good, he looks like Superman. I'm just telling you, man. I was telling you before what's going on right now, man. It's what you see right now. He can't do nothing, man. Look here man, guess what? If Marquez hit him with right hands, what do you think Lil Floyd gonna do? Man, Pacquiao was not hitting Marquez. Marquez was making him miss.

PC: Amir Khan actually came out and said that Pacquiao's people don't want him sparring Khan anymore. Khan said he has been getting the better of Manny and wants him to retire.

FM: Amir Khan said he wants to fight Lil Floyd, but he not whoopin' Lil Floyd either. I think Lil Floyd beats Khan easier than he beats Pacquiao.

PC: What do you think about the Cotto/Margarito situation and their upcoming fight?

FM: I didn't get a chance to see the picture Cotto had with Margarito's hand wraps. It was plaster on his hands. This had nothing to do with Margarito's illegal wraps, but Pacquiao was wrapping his own hands. I heard a lot of Filipino fighters like to do that though, but hey, as long as they hands get checked and they are comfortable with the wrap, then it doesn't matter who wrap 'em. Evidently, somebody didn't check Margarito's hands, so what that tell you? They let Margarito and his old trainer do what they wanted to do. But as far as Margarito being banned for life, Pacquiao shouldn't be able to fight again, for real, if they wanna get down to business and find out what's going on in this sport, but they don't want to do that. They want to make sure Lil Floyd gets whooped and that still ain't happening, and it ain't gonna happen because Pacquiao fights like an amateur. That dude ain't nothing but an amateur. I'm going to tell you just like it is, man. He ain't got nothing to whoop Lil Floyd with.
