"Team Maidana saying that there's a rumor accusing Devon of supposedly using PEDs is just a sign that they're getting cold feet, but we're willing to take whatever tests they want us to take," stated Devon Alexander's world-class trainer Kevin Cunningham, who responded to Team Maidana's accusations of PED rumors and their request for additional testing. Obviously insulted by the claim, Cunningham made it crystal clear that they have no problems whatsoever agreeing to take whatever tests they want to take.
"They just made this ass whoopin' a whole lot worse is what they did. All this is to me is these motherfuckers is getting nervous and scared, but this ass whoopin is coming February 25th. Maybe after February 25th, he'll think Devon was on something because Devon's about to put it on his ass like he is on something," Cunningham added. According to another source, the request for additional anti-doping tests is one of many last-minute requests being made by Team Maidana. Apparently, at one point, Team Maidana tried to change the 10-round fight to a 12-rounder. They have also lodged complaints about certain officials for the bout.
