TWO STEPS AHEAD, MAYWEATHER ALREADY TRAINING NOW, WHILE COTTO BEGINS TRAINING LATER

All this week, WBA jr. middleweight champion Miguel Cotto has repeatedly stated that he can't wait for the conclusion of the 3-city press tour so he can begin training early next for his highly anticipated showdown with undefeated pound-for-pound champion Floyd Mayweather. "It's the last stop of our promotional tour. I'm anxious to start training next week for this fight," Cotto reiterated earlier today during the final press conference of the tour. "All I want to let you know is that I don't want to stop training hard for this fight and I don't want to stop until I find the tool to beat Mayweather on May 5th." Well, if Cotto is hoping to train as hard as Mayweather, he might have to start off camp with three-a-days next week, as Mayweather already started training for the May 5th showdown prior to the beginning of the promotional tour.

"I've already started training. I started training on the press tour. I mean, I was training at Zab Judah's father's gym in Brooklyn. I mean, I went there and was working out," Mayweather commented today when asked when his training camp would officially start. In fact, according to sources, Mayweather actually began training in the early morning hours this past Monday, going out for a "light" 5-mile run in Orlando before boarding a private jet to fly to Puerto Rico to kick off the promotional tour. On Tuesday, he arrived in New York for the second leg of the tour, and again he would hit the gym, working out at Yoel Judah's gym as he explained. Later that evening, he flew to California, where once again he would "shake out" at gym in the early hours of the morning, this time at Ten Goose Boxing Gym.

It's clear that "hard Work, dedication" is not a phrase that Mayweather takes lightly, nor is his opponent, Miguel Cotto.
