Hall-of-Fame trainer Freddie Roach was recently spotted at the popular BOA Steakhouse in West Hollywood, California along with his first world champion, former light heavyweight and cruiserweight champion Virgil "Quicksilver" Hill. According to the 48-year-old Hill, the two have reunited as fighter and trainer and are currently planning on making a comeback. "Freddie had brought me up here to assess me. He says that he'll train me for my comeback fight, so I've been doing that," Hill would tell the paparazzi taking pictures of them as they left the restaurant.
Hill (50-7, 23 KOs) last fought in November of 2007, losing a 12-round unanimous decision to Firat Arslan in a bid for the WBA cruiserweight title. Most fans probably remember him from his KO loss at the hands of Roy Jones Jr., who landed a debilitating right hand to the body that ended the fight. Evidently, Hill is looking to return to the cruiserweight division to capture a title in hopes of breaking a record that's currently held by light heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins. "Eventually I want Bernard. I want BHop because I want to be the oldest champion and I'm sure BHop, if I win the title, he'll come up. That's my goal," he explained. "Bernard's the oldest champion and I think I can beat him."
