According to mediatakeout.com, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Edner Cherry got into an scuffle at a Las Vegas club last night. Apparently, Cherry had an issue regarding some money he was still owed for his services as a sparring partner for Mayweather.
When he confronted Mayweather, an altercation supposedly broke out that left the former pound-for-pound king asleep on the floor. Cherry allegedly knocked Mayweather out cold. No word yet from either side regarding the validity of the story. Keep in mind that mediatakeout.com is notorious for reporting false stories, like the one about Mayweather signing a $200 million contract to fight for the UFC. Furthermore, Edner Cherry doesn't really seem like the type of person who would get "gangsta" on Floyd over some sparring money in the club. That being said, every now and then, they do get one right and given Mayweather's love of night clubs, this certainly could be one of them. Calls to Edner Cherry have yet to be answered.
