According to several internet reports, super middleweight and light heavyweight king Joe Calzaghe has suffered a hand injury that will force a postponement of his highly-anticipated clash with Roy Jones Jr.
Jones, who didn't get into any details, broke the news that the fight had been pushed back to some time in November. He had no further comment, but more details will follow from both camps.
Calzaghe's attorney, Gareth Williams, said, "He rang me in a panic saying he would not be ready to fight." He was confident that the fight would be rescheduled for some time later this year and would speak with executives at HBO later today to find a new date and venue while Calzaghe would have his injury examined by a specialist.
