THEHYPE: FightHype.com would like to welcome Floyd Mayweather Sr. to tonight's chat session.

PIMP JUICE: hey sr

PIMP JUICE: sup man?

FLOYD MAYWEATHER SR: Hey.

simonELNINO: Welcome Floyd, thanks for coming in on short notice

FLOYD MAYWEATHER SR: No problem.

simonELNINO: What do you think of the fight saturday?

FLOYD MAYWEATHER SR: I look for Cotto to be victorious on the strength that he's more knowledgable than Margarito.

PIMP JUICE: Thanks for coming in man, what do you think of a possible DLH/pacman match up?

FLOYD MAYWEATHER SR: Everybody knows that De La Hoya has a vicious left hook and in all honesty, any time you have a good big man against a good little man, what happens with that?

simonELNINO: do you believe your son is really fully retired, and has there been any contact at all between you and him?

FLOYD MAYWEATHER SR: No. There's no contact between me and my son and do I believe he's really retired? Not by far. Not even close!

TheProdigy: Hey Floyd Sr. I was wondering who do you consider to be the future of boxing?

FLOYD MAYWEATHER SR: At this present time, with my son being retired and if he stays out longer, then Cotto. He's the best I've seen lately. It all depends on if Zab Judah wins his next fight. I'll probably be training him and then we'll see.

FLOYD MAYWEATHER SR: He has to win against Clottey in order for that to happen though.

kyleclees: floyd sr ... What is your take on guys like roy jones jr and bernard hopkins still going after the big money fights . Do you think there is a point where they should hang up the gloves?

FLOYD MAYWEATHER SR: Yeah, Roy should hang it up and so should Hopkins. Hopkins last fight, ya'll saw the same thing I saw. Roy has been stretched bad twice. He could still beat some of these lackluster fighters, but fighting the elite, he will be comotosed. He can't fight these big guys.

CanadianDragon: With your son talking about trying MMA do you think he will actually do it? and how do you think he will do?

FLOYD MAYWEATHER SR: He ain't going to do it. That's the craziest shit I've ever heard and I'm here to tell you that he ain't going to do it.

dangibbons: Hey Big Floyd, who would you prefer Oscar to fight in his farewell fight in December?

FLOYD MAYWEATHER SR: Being that it ain't my son, I would prefer for him to fight the winner of Cotto and Margarito. That would be a big fight!

The C.E.O.: Hey, Big Floyd....you are my DUDE!....your interviews with Percy Crawford are true, front page entertainment....alot of us appreciate you for tellin' it like it is....I wanna know....who do you think is the most overrated boxer in the last 20 years...I personally think it's between De La Hoya and Hatton....

FLOYD MAYWEATHER SR: I think there may be some overrating with De La Hoya, but he's not as bad as Hatton or Gatti. If you look back at it, you will see Oscar is far from overrated. To tell you the truth, I might be training Hatton. When I get my hands on him, he will use his head more and not get beat up. He will learn defense.

THEHYPE: Training Hatton? Is that some scoopage?

FLOYD MAYWEATHER SR: Yes, scoopage!

AKay: Big Floyd would you entertain the thought of training any MMA fighters with thier Stand up in the future? Do you think the style you train could translate in any way to MMA?

FLOYD MAYWEATHER SR: It could happen if the money is right. I might think about it if the money is right. It's not all about the money, but you need money to live and at the end of the day, I'm going to do my job right if it happens.

simonELNINO: If you have a fighter first day in the gym? Who's tapes do you make him watch? and what advice do you give to him if he wants to persue boxing?

FLOYD MAYWEATHER SR: I don't make a fighter watch tapes. I show him how to fight and make sure he steps with his jab and throws it right and then from that, a 1-2 then a 1-2 hook and then from there, sky's the limit once you get those combinations down.

PIMP JUICE: What do you think will happen with Hopkins vs Pavlik get in the ring? Who wins & why?

FLOYD MAYWEATHER SR: I don't like the way...let's face it man, when fighters get that age, it's over. George Foreman was losing every round and landed a big punch. I like Hopkins a lot, but I have to ride with Pavlik because there ain't a Big George punch in Hopkins or none of these other guys so I hope people are not counting on that.

TheProdigy: What do you think needs to be done with the Heavyweight division to make it more exciting for the boxing fan?

FLOYD MAYWEATHER SR: I dont know what to even tell you about that. That's the poorest division there is and they have champions, but can't none of them fight. Klitschko can't fight! The only reason they win is because of their size. You hit them on the chin and you know where they're going, right?

dangibbons: Big Floyd, you gotta tell us more about the possibility of training Hatton. Is that something that's in the works right now? Has Hatton approached you about it? Give us the scoop.

FLOYD MAYWEATHER SR: Come Friday, I'll know more about it. It's nothing that's in stone and if it don't happen soon, he's going to get hurt. At the end of the day, they need me more than I need them, but it's been talked about.

The C.E.O.: Calzaghe-Pavlik....if it were to happen...(which it probably won't because I think Cal knows he'll take a beating).....do you think the man with the wash woman hands comes away victorious?

FLOYD MAYWEATHER SR: You must mean Calzaghe.

The C.E.O.: You know it! LOL!

FLOYD MAYWEATHER SR: Calzaghe can't knock nobody out with a sledge hammer.

The C.E.O.: exactly...lol....and he can't hold off the output and power Pavlik would bring...

FLOYD MAYWEATHER SR: It depends on what kind of shot Calzaghe can take. If he could take the shot, he could win because like I said, the wash woman don't stop punching. Hopkins could put him down and I know Hopkins doesn't hit harder than Pavlik.

simonELNINO: your the best trainer in the world. who's number 2?

FLOYD MAYWEATHER SR: They got the best 10 in the ranking with the fighters. Like my son is number 1 and then they have 2, 3....I'm 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10. If I'm #1, how can #2 or 3 beat me?

THEHYPE: FightHype.com would like to thank Floyd Mayweather Sr. for taking time out of his busy schedule to chat with us tonight.

FIGHTHYPE FAN PHONE CALL

After the chat tonight, I was the one fortunate enough to get the call....I must have smiled for 30 minutes straight after we hung up...

I casually told my wife..."hey...Floyd Mayweather Senior is about to call me..."....lol

The phone rings....Percy Crawford introduces himself, and we ask each other how we were doin'.....he then said he had Big Floyd on three way....you sounded pretty chill there, Percy btw....anyway....off we went...

It all happened so fast it's hard to remember everything....but I asked him how he was doing, and that it was very cool that he was calling me....he said that this is his job, and this is part of what he does....I told him I was shocked that I heard he was in talks with Hatton about training him...and that being shocked is something different for me....lol....he said...."you want me to shock you, _____?....you know Fernando Vargas?....you know when he fought Mosley?"

I was like, "yeah...yeah."...I thought he was gonna give me some juicy insider gossip....but instead he went right into The Tale of Mosley-Vargas....flowin'....rhymin'.

He must have had it memorized because it didn't seem like he was reading or anything....he didn't stutter one time....it was pretty impressive. He went on for about 2 minutes straight....I was just listening and chuckling here and there....

Talking about Tito....Vargas' broken eye sockets....fat pockets....Vargas had to recoup drinkin' soup...lol...all kinds of stuff....I told him I knew about his poems, and that it was a good one...

Percy then asked if I had any questions....but I really didn't have any after all that were asked in chat, and I didn't want to take up any more of his time....I just thanked him and told him I appreciated him....and that was it....it was a pretty damn cool.

I've followed Boxing religiously for over 30 years, and that was the first time I've ever spoken with someone that high profile in the business .....it's fitting Big Floyd was my first...his "pull no punches" opinions, hilarious insults, and entertaining personality is right up my alley.

Thank you, Ben, Percy....I needed that.
