If you missed the chat session with WBC #1 contender Luis Collazo, check the entire transcript to see what he had about a potential clash with WBC champion Andre Berto. "Andre is a good fighter. He did his thing against Rodriguez. I still don't think he's fought an elite fighter yet and me vs. Berto, I come out with my hands raised," he stated and you don't want to miss what else he had to say about Berto possibly avoiding him in favor of a fight with Steve Forbes, his thoughts on Miguel Cotto, Antonio Margarito, Zab judah, Joshua Clottey and much more.
TheHype: FightHype would like to welcome Luis Collazo to tonight's chat session.
LUIS COLLAZO: What's good FightHype?
Al Hata: hey Luis, who are you targeting for your next fight?
LUIS COLLAZO: Right now, I'm just waiting. The talks now are Carlos Baldomir to do a WBC eliminator so hopefully by next week, I'll know what's going on with that.
damarvelous1: What are your thoughts on Cotto-Margarito?
LUIS COLLAZO: It was a great fight. It lived up to the hype. I figured Margarito would break him down and finish him off in the later rounds and that's what he did.
muaythaifan: So give us the scoop. What's the deal with you being the WBC #1 contender, but Berto looking to fight Steve Forbes? Do you think Berto is trying to avoid you?
LUIS COLLAZO: To be honest, probably so. The WBC is trying to do an eliminator with me and Baldomir and if that's what I have to do, that's what I'll do and then take care of the WBC champion and that's Andre Berto.
BigPoppaPump: Any chance we might get to see an all Puerto Rican showdown between you and Cotto?
LUIS COLLAZO: Anything is possible. You know how boxing goes. If they put it together, I'm more than willing to fight Miguel Cotto if that comes about.
The C.E.O.: L. COLLAZO!...loved your performance against Hatton. Regardless of that flash KD he got on you in the 1st, you outboxed him all night and shook him hard late...that was your night, and you deserved the win....so no question....just wanting to give you respect. Thank you for coming by and hanging with us.
LUIS COLLAZO: Thank you for having me.
jaz: Who do you like this weekend between Judah and Clottey?
LUIS COLLAZO: I'm going to go with Zab because me and Zab are friends, but if he doesn't come out ready, Clottey could come out with the victory.
JonnyBlaze: Hows it goin Luis??I was wondering if you want a rematch with Hatton to show you won the fight??What would you do differently to make sure you get the decision/KO??
LUIS COLLAZO: Knock him out! I would go out there and just box him and break him down. I wouldn't go out there to prove a point like I did in the first fight. I would do what I do best and take his head off.
hardhead: I agree with CEO. I thought you beat Hatton by a couple points. You're a young talented fighter and I look forward to seeing you getting in the mix at welter.
LUIS COLLAZO: I appreciate it. I'm just waiting to get back in the mix. The only people that can make it happen are the fans and as soon as they line something up, look for more to come from Luis Collazo.
BiteYoEar: with the power Berto posseses are you sure you dont want to hold off a little longer so its a bigger money fight, or are you just wanting to prove something now.
LUIS COLLAZO: I'm ready to get what I want and that's a world title and he's the one that's holding it!
Al Hata: Just want to say i enjoy watching you fight luis and hope to see you in the ring soon.
LUIS COLLAZO: Definitely! Hopefully another month or so.
muaythaifan: What do you think of Berto as fighter? How do you think a fight between you and him plays out?
LUIS COLLAZO: Andre is a good fighter. He did his thing against Rodriguez. I still don't think he's fought an elite fighter yet and me vs. Berto, I come out with my hands raised.
JonnyBlaze: Who do you see as the biggest threat to you at Welterweight of all the champions??Who would give you the toughest fight and why??
LUIS COLLAZO: I think, to be honest, if I'm at my best, none of them give me problems except Margarito because of his pressure, but I'm a boxer myself.
hardhead: have you been in the gym training like you're going to have a fight in a month or have you been just doing some light training/taking it easy and waiting for the contracts to be signed?
LUIS COLLAZO: Right now, I'm just working out 5 days a week. 3 times a week are real intense and the other days, just physical training. I'm waiting on something to come up.
TheHype: FightHype would like to thank Luis Collazo for taking time out to chat with us tonight.
LUIS COLLAZO: Thanks for my fans and I'll be back real soon. Stay tuned for Team Collazo in '08. Thanks to FightHype for having me on.
