By Editor | December 05, 2008
JOHN HACKLEMAN:

If you missed the online chat session with Pit Boss John Hackleman, check out the entire transcript to see what he had to say. "We like him at light heavyweight. We don't see a reason to go up to heavyweight right now. He could still make light heavy pretty easy...As far as names, I can't really talk about names. I would rather fight Randy I guess because of the relationship with Silva and his management, but I don't see either fight being productive for anybody involved," he stated and you don't want to miss what else he had to say about Chuck Liddell's next fight as well as his thoughts on Brock Lesnar, Forrest Griffin, Rashad Evans, Wanderlei Silva, Quinton Jackson and much more. Check it out.

thehype: FightHype would like to welcome John Hackleman to tonight's chat session

dtut: If you could choose Chuck's next opponent, who would it be?

JOHN HACKLEMAN: Forrest Griffin!

jaz: Would Chuck be better off staying at light heavyweight, or do you think he should move up to heavy to face Randy?

JOHN HACKLEMAN: We like him at light heavyweight. We don't see a reason to go up to heavyweight right now. He could still make light heavy pretty easy.

gwill: Do you think Chuck is going to learn anything new by training with ATT?

JOHN HACKLEMAN: Yeah, you learn something new wherever you train. He's always cross-trained and had people come in. He will definitely learn from Liborio and Matt

zombkiller: Dana white said Machida would be the next best p4p if silva retires what do you think

JOHN HACKLEMAN: I thnk he's a great fighter, but I would throw people like GSP out there first. I would even throw the cute little guy with the dimples...Urijah Faber.

grimey: Who do you think is going to win the Wanderlei-Rampage fight?

JOHN HACKLEMAN: That's a tough one. I'll go with Rampage.

winkster: What did you think of Brock Lesnar's win over Couture?

JOHN HACKLEMAN: I thought it was explosive! Explosive! That punch to the back of the ear, I dont think anybody would have recovered from that. That 3-inch ground and pound he has is brutal.

JOHN HACKLEMAN: He doesnt have to put much behind it.

deagledeuce: at this point do you think chuck-wandy 2 are still possible ?

JOHN HACKLEMAN: It's never been talked about and I don't know why. They're putting a bunch of names out there, but that's never been one of them.

JOHN HACKLEMAN: Shit, I dont know? I'll have to go with Griffin.

JOHN HACKLEMAN: I had to pick one or I would sound like chicken shit so Forrest.

muaythaifan: Other than Anderson Silva and Randy, can you give us some of the other names they're throwing out there? Would you rather see Chuck fight Anderson or Randy?

JOHN HACKLEMAN: As far as names, I can't really talk about names. I would rather fight Randy I guess because of the relationship with Silva and his management, but I don't see either fight being productive for anybody involved.

dtut: What do you think was Chuck's best performance to date?

JOHN HACKLEMAN: Randy 2 and Tito 1.

JOHN HACKLEMAN: Babalu 1 and 2.

jaz: It seems like Chuck has abandoned leg kicks and is just looking for the one-punch knockout. Do you think he's become too one-dimensional and predictable?

JOHN HACKLEMAN: No. If you watch his flurries against Tito and Wanderlei, he was throwing 12-punch combos against Wanderlei. He does go for power punching, but he does throw combinations. But once in awhile, he does get overzealous. He was in the middle of a combo when he got knocked out agaisnt Rashad.

JOHN HACKLEMAN: He threw a 20-punch combo against Tito when he went down.

gwill: Hey John, I know you watch some good boxing from time to time. Who do you like in that Pacquiao-De La Hoya fight? Do you think Pacquiao may be biting off more than he can chew by jumping up two weight division?

JOHN HACKLEMAN: Yeah, I think...I love Pacquiao, but he's giving up a little too much. Oscar is too big!

zombkiller: If someone were to just start training, what do you think the most important base for mma is, where do you think a beginner should start

JOHN HACKLEMAN: I think a beginner should start with the basic 4 and not concentrate on any 1. Do each form equally. Standup, wrestling, takedown defense, conditioning and submissions. I think it's much better to be well-rounded than good at any one thing.

grimey: Speaking of boxing, I heard Arlovski been training a lot with Freddie Roach. Do you think a guy like that could make a transition to boxing and be successful in the crappy heavyweight division?

JOHN HACKLEMAN: I'm sure if he wanted to he could, but I dont see a purpose in it. I do think he has great hands.

deagledeuce: do you seriously think that wandy-chuck 2 will be the same as the first fight ?

JOHN HACKLEMAN: It could be a quick knockout. It won't be boring, that's for sure.

mtone88: 1) I was wondering what exactly distinguishes Kempo Karate's style of standup from rregular muay thai or kickboxing and if Chuck Liddell uses Kempo in MMA or if he tweaked it to be more like kickboxing and more applicable to MMA? 2) Who do you think will win Dan Henderson or Rich Franklin 3) out of any fighter in the world that you do not currently train, who would you be most interested in training and who you think you could help the most?

JOHN HACKLEMAN: I call it Hawaiian Kempo. Some call it kickboxing and street fighting, but we just happen to call our system of fighting Hawaiian Kempo.

JOHN HACKLEMAN: Dan Henderson, but not as solid in him as if it was at 185, but he will still pull it off.

JOHN HACKLEMAN: Matt Wiman

JOHN HACKLEMAN: I just have this thing for him. Kind of a pseudo gay thing for him. I'm more about personality than winning.

thehype: FightHype would like to thank John Hackleman for taking time out to chat with us tonight

JOHN HACKLEMAN: Thanks guys talk to you next time.
