"Him giving up the title is kind of ridiculous I think because he's going to lose it anyway so it doesn't matter...I'm going to push for the title to be on the line and the sanctioning body, I think, will honor that because Pacquiao is definitely in the top 10 at 145 because that is the welterweight division. I mean, anything over 140 pounds is in the welterweight division," stated world-class trainer Freddie Roach in an interview today with FightHype.com as he shared his thoughts on the recent controversy regarding Miguel Cotto's title being on the line.
"He'll probably want 10 ounce gloves next also, but we're going to push for 8 ounce gloves on that issue also," Roach continued as he made it clear that Manny Pacquiao will get he wants when it comes to his upcoming November 14 clash with WBO welterweight champion Miguel Cotto. With WBO President Francisco "Paco" Valcarcel already giving his approval, it looks like Miguel Cotto's title will definitely be on the line, whether he vacates it or not, and Manny Pacquiao will have the opportunity to win a seventh world title in as many weight divisions.
