On November 14, Miguel Cotto will do his work as usual and come prepared for Manny Pacquiao," stated WBO welterweight champion Miguel Cotto as he addressed accusations made by Manny Pacquiao's trainer, Freddie Roach, that he's a dirty fighter.
When he steps into the ring on November 14, Cotto intends on fighting the same way he always has and isn't concerned with Roach's pre-fight complaints about low blows. "Freddie Roach should learn to take his rightful role where he belongs, which is coaching....no matter the comments or what he tries to do, we'll keep working and doing our usual style of fighting," Cotto added in a recent interview with Hiram Alberto Torraca of elnuevodia.com.
Unfazed by the comments, Cotto remains focused on his training and doesn't plan on letting any comments from Roach distract him. Although he didn't exactly deny using dirty tactics inside the ring, he obviously doesn't think it's an issues. His nonchalant attitude about the comments suggests that he believes it's just par for the course when it comes to fighting. What some may call "dirty tactics", others consider to be "veteran tricks".
