FORMER MAYWEATHER SPARRING PARTNER SAYS PACQUIAO FIGHT WILL BE TOUGHEST TRAINING CAMP

"Once I heard the fight was going to take place, I started making phone calls out to Floyd and his camp to try to reach his people," stated former jr. welterweight champion DeMarcus "Chop Chop" Corley. No stranger to working with Mayweather, Corley has served as his chief sparring partner for previous bouts, including his 2006 clash with Zab Judah. "I know that he's going to need to see that movement that Manny Pacquiao is going to bring to the table from a southpaw stance and that right hook that Manny Pacquiao throws with the straight left hand," Corley continued, implying that he would be an excellent choice to emulate Pacquiao's style in sparring.

Although the highly-anticipated matchup between Mayweather and Pacquiao has yet to be finalized, both sides will meet later today in an attempt to resolve Mayweather's request for random blood testing through mediation. Despite the firm stance that both camps have taken, Corley believes that ultimately, they'll come to an agreement and the fight will push through as scheduled. "I think the fight is still possible. The holdup is about them just doing the test and making sure he's not on nothing and making sure Floyd's not on nothing. I think the fight should happen," he added.

Assuming the fight does get made, Corely has no doubt that Manny Pacquiao will be Floyd toughest opponent and, as such, the undefeated multi-division champion will have to train harder than he's ever trained before. "I know that Pacquiao fight would be one of Floyd's toughest training camps that he has ever had because he's going to have to push himself to another level," Corley remarked. "He's always in the gym working 3 to 4 o'clock in the morning. He's going to have to do everything 10 times more to get ready for this meaningful of a fight."
