Chicago based HITZ BOXING looks to pack 'em in and pack a punch this Saturday, February 20th, at the HORSE SHOE CASINO in Hammond, IL. Headlining the talent-packed 6-bout card is Heavyweight great "Fast" Fres Oquendo taking on Demterice King for the NABA/USBA Heavyweight Title. We have a fight on our hands with this match-up. King, a known KO artist, plans to be the spoiler in Oquendo's quest for a shot at the Kiltschko brothers.
"I am looking forward to facing Oquendo. I can guarantee this much, it won't go the full 12 rounds. I am knocking him all the way out, I am not coming to lose, I am coming to collect what's mine" -Demterice King
"I have big plans for 2010. As far as boxing goes, the division is wide open. I am on a mission that some say is impossible. I don't see it that way. I will take care of King come Saturday night and then I am looking to mix it up with either one of the Klitschko's ."-Oquendo
Also featured on the card is local Irish favorite Middleweight Henry Coyle vs. Marcus Luck. If Coyle has his way Marcus' 'Luck" will run out once he steps into the ring, in a bout scheduled for 6 rounds.
MMA sensation and crowd favorite Achour Esho will face Marteze Logan in a 6 round Welterweight match up, no doubt Esho's legions of fans will bring the house down as they root on their hometown boy!
John Lewus vs. Rodney Freeman will see action in a scheduled 4 round Welterweight bout. Terry Martin will go toe to toe against Rodell Bolar in a 4 round Cruiserweight match-up.
Derek Zugic heads home, after training in Los Angeles, to face Jaddell Wells in a 4 round Light Heavyweight bout. Closing the card are Heavyweights Krzyzsktof Simnoch vs. Keon Graham scheduled for 4 rounds.
Sitting ringside will be very special and honored guest James "Buster" Douglas, who this week is in the midst of celebrating his remarkable knockout win against "Iron" Mike Tyson some 20 years ago. Douglas will also be on hand to greet fans and press at the weigh-in.
"This is a fight card for the real boxing fans.. I have a fine tuned ear to what fans are looking for, and in this day and age with the economy the way it is, I have a duty to put on an amazing competitive fight card if I am asking fans to spend their hard earned money on my event. Having James "Buster" Douglas ringside is the icing on the cake.. he is an incredible figure in boxing, he upset the invincible "Iron" Mike Tyson and yet after 20 years he still remains the same; humble."-Bobby Hitz.
