JOHN "POPS" ARTHUR: "ALL BANKS DOES IS RUN. WE WANT TO FIGHT REAL FIGHTERS"

FightHype.com recently received a phone call from John "Pops" Arthur, long-time trainer, advisor and father-figure of James Toney, to inform us that he was none too happy, to say the least, about recent comments made by heavyweight Jonathan Banks. "Banks barely beat Javier Mora. Mora stopped in the middle of the ring and did the chicken dance because Banks was running so much. He's a runner and we're not interested in fighting runners," he commented about the possibility of a future clash with Toney.

"All Banks does is run. We want to fight real fighters; not go to a motherfuckin' track meet," he continued. Pops also took exception to Banks demand that Toney to stop repping Detroit, stating, "You never forget where the fuck you come from. He was born and raised there; how the fuck is he going to forget that? Dumb motherfucker! James can rep Detroit as much as he wants to. Jonathan Banks can't stop him."

Arthur also had a stern warning for Banks regarding any future comments he may make. "He better watch what comes out of his fucking mouth because we can take it to the streets. We can do this shit when we see each other in the streets. He better watch his mouth," Arthur added. "In fact, I have another heavyweight he can fight and if he gets past him, then he could fight James, but he probably won't get past him. These young motherfuckers want to call out James and their names aren't worth any money. If it don't make dollars, it don't make sense!"

Things are definitely getting interesting, as well as heated, in the ongoing battle of Detroit. Any fan of the heavyweight division, if there's any still around, should be enjoying this because frankly, there are just way too many nice guys in a division that has been lacking fireworks. Let's hope some of these fireworks can be detonated inside of the ring!
