Earlier today, rapper 50 Cent called in to Sirius Satellite Radio station Shade45 to speak to DJ Whoo Kid about Floyd Mayweawther's recent engagement, as well as his recent arrest for grand larceny and the allegations of domestic violence. According to 50 Cent, Mayweather's new fiance, Shantel Jackson, is at the heart of his latest drama. Evidently, Mayweather's ex-girlfiend and the mother of 3 of his children, Josie Harris, is not thrilled about the new woman who's about to become a permanent fixture in his life. Check out some of the highlights from 50 Cent's conversation.
On Mayweather's egagement and his fiance...
"I got a phone call this morning, right? Floyd's getting married. He called me and he's telling me, you know, he asked me to be the best man at his wedding. And I was like, you know, I was like, "I'd come." That was out of the, like I kind of, the people don't understand the issue that he's having with his son's mom is stemming from the new girl."
"His fiance got a, like this tattoo of him, like with a heart tattoo, and then it got like 41 hearts for the 41 wins that Floyd got so far. Yeah, I told him to stop doing that because she gonna have hearts all over her body if you keep winning."
On why Mayweather is ready to settle down and get married...
"For the same reason people who don't have money get married, you know? When they find someone that's special. I mean, it's obvious Miss Jackson, the girl that he's getting ready to actually marry, is his best friend. She's been around him for a long time."
On the allegations of domestic violence...
"For you to have 3 children by a woman, be taking care of them completely, and for her to send you to jail over a damn IPhone...I'm like, see, I knew as soon as they said domestic violence, they would think that Floyd actually attacked her because boxing is probably the most violent sport outside of maybe MMA, you know what I'm saying?"
"They gonna assume that he punched her or that he did something fighting, and I was like that's not the case. That's why I went off talking so much like that [on Twitter]. People don't know, I speak to Floyd every day. That dude [Mayweather] called me, he was like, "Man, I ain't," 'cause I was talking to him as he went into the house. He was like, "Yo, I'm gonna call you right back. I'm going inside to see the kids." He called me when he came back out. He wasn't even upset. He was like, "Yo, I just came from there." He said, "Man, this bitch had the house looking like a pig stuy." So he's pissed off about that shit. You know what I mean? I'm like, come on man. I was in Vegas, on New Year's, and she [Josie Harris] was there, and he was like, "Yo, show me the what's the name," and he showed me a ring she had on. He paid a million dollars for the ring; she tried to go sell the ring."
"All of that going to the hospital shit, they do that shit all the time just so they make the application for them saying that they need an order or protection look right, because it will be on record that you visited the hospital for whatever reason, you know what I'm saying. But he didn't touch that girl."
