Former WBO jr. welterweight champion Randall Bailey (41-7, 36 KOs) is looking to become a champion once more! Moments ago, Bailey informed us that he will be returning to the ring on December 2nd to face Said Ouali in an IBF eliminator, the winner becoming the mandatory challenger for IBF welterweight champion Jan Zaveck. Although the bout is tentatively scheduled to take place in Belgium, Bailey made it clear that he has no problem traveling overseas, stating, "An ass whoopin' is an ass whoopin' no matter where it's at."
Bailey last fought in March, defeating Jackson Osei Bonsu (31-3, 24 KOs) via first round stoppage. It was his second fight as a welterweight, after a successful debut against Germaine Sanders (27-8, 17 KOs) in December of last year. Bailey made the move up in weight after a disappointing 11th round stoppag to Juan Urango in his last title challenge. Despite the setback, Bailey quickly got himself back in line for a title with his recent performance, which reminded everyone that he's still one of the biggest punchers in the sport. "I'm in the gym preparing for another KO," he added. "They are looking for the big right hand, but that heavy left hook maybe the KO."
