"This kid is out to prove a point, and when you fight Antonio Margarito, you have to beat him from here on out. Margarito is out to prove it wasn't the wraps," stated world class trainer Naazim Richardson, the man who caught Margarito's trainer attempting to load his gloves prior to his fight with Richardson's pupil, Shane Mosley, in 2009. After Margarito served a one year suspension, the athletic commissions in Nevada and California declined to reinstate his boxing license. Texas, however, welcomed the opportunity to play host to one of the biggest events of the year. Margarito was granted his license and awarded the opportunity of a lifetime...redemption! It is for that reason why Richardson expects Margarito to be more dangerous than ever. He explained, "This guy feels disrespected by the entire boxing community. He was already a threat, but I'm telling you now, this kid is out to prove something."
As if the extra motivation for the "Tijuana Tornado" wasn't enough, Naazim feels Pacquiao's new political role may not be helping his cause as he prepares to move up in weight to face another bigger, stronger opponent. "Pacquiao has made a point to help his country, and that's a great thing, but we don't know how much time he's really putting into that political stuff and how much time that's taking away from his boxing stuff. He wears a lot of hats and Margarito is coming to win. Pacquiao is really going to have to beat him...in fact, that goes for Mayweather and anyone else that fights Margarito right now...they gonna have to beat Margarito," Richardson added.
