SO MUCH FOR MAYWEATHER BEING A PRIORITY; PACQUIAO VS. MOSLEY 90% DONE?

SO MUCH FOR MAYWEATHER BEING A PRIORITY; PACQUIAO VS. MOSLEY 90% DONE?

So much for Floyd Mayweather being a priority. According to Shane Mosley, or at least Shane Mosley's official Twitter page, which we assume is controlled directly by Mosley himself, a bout with Filipino superstar Manny Pacquiao is nearly 90% done less than 1 week after his total destruction of Antonio Margarito.

Early in the morning on Thursday, Mosley tweeted that he would be visiting with promoter Bob Arum to discuss details of the bout, namely money. "Alright guys I have to catch a plane tomorrow to go talk to bob arum about that fight with PAC. I know we just have to talk about money now," Mosley would post at 1:34 AM on November 18. Later that day, presumably some time after his meeting with Arum, Mosley would come back sounding extremely confident as he discussed the potential bout with fans. After a long day of replying to followers, Mosley would drop the following tweet:

alright tweet buddies, I am going to get me some rest. Talk with Ya'll later. But get ready for Sugar and Pac it's going down!!!!!!

Say what? Did he just say get ready for Sugar and Pac, it's going down? No! Couldn't be! Like most of you reading this right now, my first reaction was that there's no way Bob Arum would let Shane Mosley start talking like a fight with Pacquiao is nearly a done deal less than 1 week after he just told the media that a bout with Floyd Mayweather was their "first priority!" No way Arum would do that, I thought, so naturally, a replied with a tweet of my own:

@SugarShaneM I have a feeling Arum will deny that "it's going down". LOL

Minute later, Shane Mosley would tweet back:

@fighthype I just left his office yesterday 90% sure Its going down trust

Whoa! Well I'll be damned. Personally, I still have my doubts, and I have a funny feeling that once this story spreads, Bob Arum will deny that a bout with Mosley is nearly done, continuing with his story that Mayweather is their "first priority." And truth be told, I believe Arum when he says that...to an extent. I believe that the other 10% that Mosley is still missing is the slim chance that Mayweather does come to the table to make the fight with Pacquiao. More than likely, Arum probably smiled at Shane and told him that the fight was his, assuming of course that Mayweather doesn't take the fight on Team Pacquiao's terms, which is something that I think has a 0% chance of happening. For you optimists out there, I guess the good news is that Arum thinks there's a 10% chance of that happening.

Either way, at this point, it's looking more and more like Mosley might indeed be Pacquiao's next opponent. Bernard Hopkins will be happy to know that he'll get a chance to see if his theory is true.
