JEFF MAYWEATHER: "$100 MILL, WHEN YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT TWO FIGHTS, IS EASY"

By Editor | March 24, 2011
JEFF MAYWEATHER:

"I was thrust into a position to actually try to put together a deal and basically, I kind of, I started the process, but eventually I just took myself out of the process because at the end of the day, it's not my decision to make. So I kind of pulled myself away from the process and now, Floyd and his team, I guess, will make that final decision...$100 mill, when you're talking about two fights, is easy; it's easy for Floyd to make. I think that could be easily be done," stated world-class trainer Jeff Mayweather, who stopped by the FightHype Radio Show to speak with hosts Vivek Wallace and Danny Howard about a number of topics, including his nephew Floyd, Manny Pacquiao, Shane Mosley, Juan Manuel Marquez and much more. Did more negotiations for a showdown with Pacquiao take place? Does Floyd really expect to get $100 million for one fight? Check out some of the quotes from the show and listen to the archived episode to find out what you missed.

On Floyd Mayweather asking for $100 million to face Manny Pacquiao...

"I was thrust into a position to actually try to put together a deal and basically, I kind of, I started the process, but eventually I just took myself out of the process because at the end of the day, it's not my decision to make. So I kind of pulled myself away from the process and now, Floyd and his team, I guess, will make that final decision."

"Everybody is just going to have to wait and see because, like I said, I mean, I involved myself with the initial start of everything, but it got to a point where, myself, I just wanted to take myself out of that picture and not be caught in the middle of everything and all the fingers are pointing at me, so I just took myself out of the equation."

"I'm waiting to hear, just like you guys, what's going to happen."

"$100 mill, when you're talking about two fights, is easy; it's easy for Floyd to make. I think that could be easily be done."

"I think that, you know, the possibility of maybe $100 million, you know, split between Floyd and Manny is beyond doable. I know that that can be done. But when you start talking about $100 million for one fight, I don't think that that can happen because that's a bit much. I mean, $100 million for each guy is unrealistic, but $100 million for the two of the guys, I mean, that's very doable and very tangible. I mean, that can happen."

You don't want to miss what else he had to say about Floyd, Manny Pacquiao, Shane Mosley, Juan Manuel Marquez, and much more. Listen to the archived episode below.
