"Never underestimate a puncher. We all know as good as Manny Pacquiao is, he's been hit already. He's been hit and he's been stopped. But he's never been hit the way Shane Mosley can hit," stated world-class trainer Eddie Mustafa Muhammad, who shared his thoughts about the upcoming May 7th showdown between Manny Pacquiao and Shane Mosley in a recent interview here on FightHype.com. Make no mistake, the former light heavyweight champion, whose career spanned 16 years, knows a thing or two about what it's like to continue fighting as you get older.
"Shane may have lost a step or two, but that power remains. He has a great teacher in Naazim Richardson," he added, suggesting that Mosley's power is still dangerous and with the right game plan provided by his trainer, Naazim Richardson, there's a good chance for him to pull off what many would consider to be a major upset. The question is will Mosley be able to land something flush against a target that moves as much as Pacquiao does? In roughly six weeks, we'll soon find out.
So is Eddie Mustafa Muhammad right? Is Shane Mosley the hardest puncher that Pacquiao has ever faced? Will his punching power make a difference in the outcome of the fight? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
