GLEN JOHNSON: "I HONESTLY BELIEVE PACQUIAO WILL WIN THE FIGHT"

GLEN JOHNSON:

The highly-anticipated May 7th showdown between pound-for-pound champion Manny Pacquiao and three-division world champion "Sugar" Shane Mosley is just around the corner and everyone is sharing their opinion on who they think will win. This week, former light heavyweight champion Glen Johnson was a guest on the FightHype Radio Show and he shared his thoughts on how he thinks the fight will play out. "I'm a huge Pacquiao fan. I mean, he is my favorite fighter, you know, in boxing today. I love what he brings to the table. He fights hard, you know, he busts people up, and even though he steps around, you can see the result on people's face when he's done with them and I love it," Johnson remarked when the topic of the fight was brought up.

"I'm also a huge fan of 'Sugar' Shane Mosley. I mean, you know, 'Sugar' Shane gave us some great fights when he was on top of his game and for that, I still love him now. Yes, he's fallen off a little bit, you know, but that's going to happen to every last one of us. There's no man that stays superior; we all fall off, especially being an athlete," he continued, giving far more credit to the 7-to-1 underdog than just about anyone else is giving him. "I wish he could win the fight. I hope he wins. I don't know if he will; I don't believe he will, but if he can find that one punch and land it and win, more power to him. I'll be extremely happy for him. I believe he deserves the shot he's getting. I hear a lot of negative things they are saying about him getting this shot, but how quickly we forget how much one man gives to a sport."

Although Johnson fully expects Manny Pacquiao to walk away with the victory, he made it clear that he'll also be rooting for his fellow older fighter. "I honestly believe Pacquiao will win the fight, but I hope Mosley can find what it takes to win and go out on top," added the Road Warrior, who will also be looking to pull off his own upset on June 4th when he takes on WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch in the next round of the Super Six Tournament.
