PETER QUILLIN TO MEET JESSE BRINKLEY ON HIS HOME TURF

TeleFutura's "Sólo Boxeo Tecate" closes out a month to remember on Friday, April 29, with an intriguing clash between unbeaten Peter "Kid Chocolate" Quillin and NBC's "The Contender" alumnus Jesse Brinkley at the Reno Events Center in Nevada.

Brinkley vs. Quillin will face off in a 10-round fight for the USBO super middleweight title which will headline the TeleFutura "Sólo Boxeo Tecate" broadcast.  In a six round junior lightweight co-main event, "Dangerous" David Rodela faces Lonnie Smith.

These bouts, along with an exciting undercard, are presented by Golden Boy Promotions and Don Chargin Productions in association with Let's Get It On Promotions, and are sponsored by Cerveza Tecate and AT&T.  Doors open at 6:00pm PT, the first bell rings at 7:00pm PT and the two-hour TeleFutura broadcast begins at 11:30pm ET / PT (10:30pm CT).

Fans at home can also be part of the action by participating in Cinturón Tecate and voting for the fighter in the main event who displayed the most character in the ring by sending a text message to 55333. Voting will be open through the end of the weekend.

Tickets, priced at $33.25, $63.25 and $103.25 are available on Ticketmaster.com, by calling 800-745-3000 or by visiting the Silver Legacy or Reno Events Center box office during hours of operation.

One of the top talents to emerge from New York in recent years, Peter "Kid Chocolate" Quillin (23-0, 17 KO's) has been perfect in his professional career thus far and the dynamic boxer-puncher has been even more unstoppable since returning from a two year injury-induced layoff in 2010.  Since his comeback, the 27-year-old has turned back the challenges of Fernando Zuniga, Martin Desjardins and Dennis Sharpe, but a win over Brinkley will undoubtedly go a long way towards propelling him into the world title picture.

A former star of NBC's "The Contender," Jesse Brinkley (35-6, 22 KO's) has won nine of his last ten bouts, including victories over Curtis Stevens, Joey Gilbert and Otis Griffin.  Brinkley's only loss in that stretch came in a super middleweight title bout against Lucian Bute last October and, considering that the 34-year-old Yerington, Nevada native is 22-2 in his home state over the course of his 13-year career, Quillin will have to dig deep to beat the hard-hitting local hero.

Oxnard's "Dangerous" David Rodela (15-3-3, 6 KO's) bounced back from a rough start in 2010 to defeat Eric Cruz and draw with Juan Montiel in his final two performances of the year, getting back to the form that had boxing insiders raving about him as a future champion.  Owner of wins over Kevin Kelley, Gamalier Rodriguez and Jose Luis Soto Karass, the 28-year-old plans on delivering a career-best effort on April 29.

24 year old Las Vegan Lonnie "El Negro Mexicano/Lightning" Smith (12-2-2, 9 KO's) knows what it's like to wade through a rough patch, having gone just 1-2-1 over a stretch in 2006-07.  Needing a break, Smith took a year and a half off from the game, but since returning in 2009, he's been unstoppable, running off seven wins without a loss, including five knockouts.  The 24-year-old insists that his successful run will not stop on April 29.

Tecate, cerveza con carácter, is the largest beer brand to sponsor boxing matches in the U.S. Part of its commitment to make boxing accessible to consumers is the title sponsorship of "Sólo Boxeo Tecate," which creates an opportunity for local fans to witness some of the most exhilarating fights by today's up-and-coming prospects.  Additionally, Tecate has been a primary supporter of Golden Boy Promotions' marquee events since 2007, and has launched a variety of initiatives to ensure consumers are part of the boxing experience, including boxer autograph signing sessions, commemorative cans, PPV mail-in rebate offers, and most recently the launch of a mobile museum "Tecate Museo de Boxeo," which showcases decades of the most memorable moments in the sport.
