After deleting his Twitter account in order to spend more time being productive, former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion King Mo Lawal has decided to host a mailbag on FightHype.com to stay in touch with fans and answer any and all questions related to himself, mixed martial arts, boxing, or just about anything. Send an email to King Mo at kingmo@fighthype.com and maybe next week, you too can see your questions and Lawal's responses in Mo's Midweek Grind. Check out what fans were asking and what King Mo had to say in this week's mailbag.
DO YOU HAVE ANY KEYS TO VICTORY IN ORDER FOR SHANE MOSLEY TO DEFEAT PACQUIAO?
King Mo: Shane needs to punch with Pacquiao when he is throwing his combos. He can't cover up and be a walking punching bag like the rest of the fighters were. He also needs to work the body as much as he can. And he needs to rough him up as much as possible; make it as ugly and rough as possible!
King Mo when is your boxing debut? Will you tape it and put in on the net? - Kid Azteca, L.A.
King Mo: It's on hold now due to the Zuffa purchase. We'll see more that happens as the merger goes forward.
Wassup man, hope all is good..really hope u can you get floyd mayweather jr for a interview to clear up everything on this 100 million dollar deal..all Iam hearing is bob arum and team pac side and I don't believe them..ps..stay makin da best interviews for us fans thanks
King Mo: LOL. I wish I could do an interview wit Floyd, but I'ma leave that to the pros....Hype and Percy!
HEY MO I HIT YOU UP A COUPLE OF WEEKS BACK ABOUT THE WEIGHT CUT. I WASN'T BEING SPECIFIC JUST WANTED A GENERAL ANSWER TO WHAT YOU THOUGHT WAS A HEALTHY CUT AND HEALTHY REHYDRATION, BUT I'M SURE THERE ARE MANY FACTORS TO THAT ANSWERÂ…DAMN JUST NOTICED THE CAPSÂ…SORRY. RIC B FROM THE D
King Mo: There are too many factors. It depends on experience, rules, time, fat percentage, past experiences and so on. It's a science. I have lost 20 pounds in one day. That works for me 'cause I know my body. I wouuldn't recommend that for you or anyone that has no experience with cutting weight.
With all of the talk of the UFC possibly taking over after contracts are up I was curious to know, how many fights do you have left on your contract? Thanks for always keeping it real with us. JB
King Mo: I ain't sure how many I got left, to be honest with you.
Why do you think people consider you an asshole? I met you at a small show before and u were cool as hell? Just wondered if I was missing something????
King Mo: People just like to assume shit. I keep thangs real and people would rather hear a sugarcoated answer or some fake ass bullshittin' ass answer. I won't give that! I'd rather keep it real than be fake and get called on it later.
Mo, thanks for taking the time out to kick it wit us on these fan questions. Being u are a huge boxing fan u have to be feelin some of the action going on of late in that squared circle. Btw we feeling you in H-Town hope u come bak and fight. Larry
King Mo: I'm feelin great, bro. I will always love H-Town!
Mo, is there any MMA fighter that used to be an excellent wrestler, but it never crossed over for them in the sport of martial artsÂ…sorta like a great amateur boxer whose switch never came on in the pros? Thanks in advanceÂ…Mike G
King Mo: Cary Kolat, Karam Gaber, and Eldari Kurtandze
I kno ur into ur muzik, so dead or alive if you had one fight and one entrance who would you let walk you out? Also, r ur entrances gonna be toned down now that ZUFFA has purchased SF
King Mo: I would have J-dawg, Z-ro, Trae, Max Minelli, Kevin Gates, Money Montana, Gator Main, C-loc, Project Pat, or Pimp C walk me out. I ain't sure whats gonna happen with my entrances now.
Which do you feel you learned more from sparring with Allan Green or working with Floyd SrÂ…or were both experiences equally prosperous??? Thanks for ur timeÂ…Long time supporter- "Money"
King Mo: I learned a lot from both! Allan Green is a beast. He put the hands on me pretty good. LOL. Floyd Sr. had me lookin' foolish with the pad work. I will be working with Allan Green on a monthly basis and I will be working with Floyd Sr. as much as I can. I know he is busy but, I'm hoping he can squeeze me in.
